Editor’s Note:  We’re giving away fun Christmas presents!  Enter to win a T-Mobile myTouch 4G smartphone!

Merry Christmas, everyone!  Christmas is my favorite time of the year.  I love celebrating Jesus’ birth and recognizing His life-saving importance in our lives.   There’s nothing like the snow on the mountains and the change in weather.  OK, OK.  I live in Southern California, so unlike many of you, I don’t have to deal with snow shoveling, dangerous iced roads, and sub-zero temperatures.  Nonetheless, Christmas brings a warming to our hearts that makes the beginning of the winter more bearable. We are excited to tell you that we have come up with a fantastic list of unique techy gifts that Moms are going to love.  You can’t go wrong with anyone of them.  See something you like?  Forward this article to a friend or husband…or post the gadget on Facebook.  That will get the hint across!  Check out these very cool items and feel free to ask questions in the comments section.

2.)  CarMD

We reviewed CarMD in October and it is a great tool for Moms to feel more comfortable about taking their car in to get service.  It’s a handheld gadget that plugs into your car’s diagnostic port, which all cars 1996 and older have, and is usually below the steering wheel.  This is the same port auto technicians use when assessing your vehicle.  After plugging in CarMD and turning on the car, you will receive either a green, yellow, or red colored light.  Green means your car is good, yellow means there are some minor issues, and red means you should take the car into be looked at.  After receiving the color light indication, plug CarMD into your PC and you’ll get more details about the issues your car is facing.  These details stem from a national database…the same one that your car technician uses.

Even better, CarMD researches the average price for the repair and gives you an estimate (for most repairs).  So now you can take your car in for repairs with confidence and knowledge.  Read our review, How To Tell if Your Car Repair Man is Telling You the Truth, for more details and pictures.

CarMD sells for $119.99 plus free Super Saver shipping at Amazon.com or $119.95 + $14.95 shipping from CarMD.

3.)  Galaxy S III OR HTC Windows phone 8X

If you’ve been a smartphone user for a while, the latest, greatest smartphone on the market is the Samsung Galaxy S III.  The Samsung Galaxy S III has a generous 4.8” HD Super AMOLED™ display which displays beautiful pictures and videos, a 8.0 megapixel camera with…get this…no shutter lag!  In fact, you can take 20 continuous shots within seconds using Burst Shot, ensuring you get that perfect soccer kick or handshake during graduation.

The Galaxy S III is priced as low as $99 with some great deals going on through T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, and more.

Need something simpler?  The HTC Windows phone 8X comes in a variety of beautiful colors…like yellow, red, purple, and black.  It has a 4.3 inch LCD screen, an 8 megapixel camera, and a surprising 2.1 megapixel front facing camera (most are under 2MP).  Although the Windows 8 phone is good for all users, it is especially good for new smartphone users.  The interface is beautiful and it is easier to find the apps you use more often.  Windows does a great job of ensuring you’re aware of your latest messages, texts, and phone calls too.
