VeggieTales In the House Debuts on Netflix

VeggieTales in the house Netflix Main

Are there any VeggieTales lovers in the house?  Well, beginning next week, November 26th, VeggieTales In The House is debuting exclusively on Netflix.  Our family has been a long-time fan of VeggieTales.  VeggieTales is a faith-based brand that weaves strong moral messages into the characters and their dilemmas.  VeggieTales features Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber, an animated duo who interact with other vegetable friends creating hilarious endeavors, humor adults can appreciate, and short Bible passages that relate to the story.Locked in Pa's Store

VeggieTales always incorporates original music in every episode or movie and often portrays gentle parodies of pop culture to teach kids about honesty, kindness, sharing, contentment, and forgiveness.  As a parent, you can help but love VeggieTales and the message they are teaching your kids.  And I love how VeggieTales makes vegetables entertaining.

VeggieTales was created in 1993 by Phil Vischer and MIke Nawrocki as a way to entertain their own children and make vegetables cool.  Phil and Mike have produced more than 50 original VeggieTales adventures and are the most popular Christian entertainment brand for kids, selling more than 70 million DVDs, 15 million books, and 7 million CDs.

What’s Next?  VeggieTales in the House

VeggieTales recently came out with Beauty and the Beet, a VeggieTales spin on Beauty and the Beast.  The story line is not the same, but there is a resemblance and the moral of the story is well told.  VeggieTales will continue to offer new movies, but next week, they are excited to introduce VeggieTales in the House on Netflix on November 26th, the day before Thanksgiving.  Usually in their shows, Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber play a role of a character.  In VeggieTales in the House, they play themselves.  This new series will give kids the opportunity to view the VeggieTales characters in their home and community.  They play themselves rather than characters in a show.

In VeggieTales in the House, the VeggieTales debut a new look, showing a more youthful appearance.  Yet, the voices of the characters and the mischief they get into hasn’t changed.  Part of the reason for the new look is due to the change in animation techniques in how the cartoon is made.  VeggieTales will now be created using the latest animation technology techniques allowing the characters to move in ways not possible before as well as cut down on the time it takes to produce a show/movie.

VeggieTales in the House, geared towards ages 5-7,  will consist of 150 shows, each lasting 11 minutes.  The shows will be developed and launched over the next three years.  Here’s an overview of what the show will look like…

In the first episode, “Sorry We’re Closed,” the Veggies somehow got locked inside Pa Grape’s store.  This occurred because they were trying to avoid each other.  By the end of the story, the Veggies learn that they can accomplish so much more by working together and being honest with each other.  The Veggies learn the importance of Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 – “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.  If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.”

The first set of VeggieTales in the House episodes will be available on Netflix on November 26th and are included in Netflix’ monthly subscription plan.

Walmart has partnered with VeggieTales to ensure its customers can always get the latest videos and VeggieTales merchandise.  VeggieTales videos are available at Walmart and Walmart.com, from $3.97 for VeggieTales:  Moe and the Big Exit to $29.04 for VeggieTales:  All The Shows, Vol. 2.  Keep a look out for more fun  VeggieTales products hitting the shelves soon at your local Walmart.
