One Multi-Device Keyboard Does it All!

Multi-Device Keyboard

Logitech has come out with a new keyboard, the Bluetooth Multi-Device Keyboard k480, that multi-tasks as a keyboard for your computer, tablet, and smartphone!  It’s a 3-in-1!  With its built-in non-slip cradle, you can slip your smartphone or tablet in and it holds them at a great angle for reading for you.

I found that my smartphone case worked just fine with the Multi-Device Keyboard.  Our Kindle Fire HDX also fit nicely…including the case!  I had to take the case of our mini iPad for it to fit though.

Pairing your devices thorough Bluetooth is a simple method.  A sticker on the keyboard shows you what to do.  Basically once the keyboard and your device connect, you will be given a number to type on the keyboard and the devices will pair with one another.

For my office, I am enjoying using the Logitech Multi-Device Keyboard and all of it’s multi-functions.  I spend a lot of time at my desk working on the computer.  I often am answering texts throughout the day and spend way less time typing in one letter at a time on my phone now that I have the Multi-Device Keyboard.  I can’t tell you how much more productive I am.  It is so helpful.

I also like it that it’s wireless and portable.  My daughter can easily borrow the keyboard to use in her room when she needs it.

Originally, I thought I would be taking this keyboard with me as I travel but one main issue is holding me back.  The Logitech Multi-Device Keyboard k480 is a bit heavy.  Weighing in at nearly 2 lbs, I might as well bring my Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 laptop, which is 3 lbs.

Features:

  • Supports Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS
  • Connects via Bluetooth
  • Is completely wireless – uses 2 AAA batteries
  • Switching between devices is as simple as turning a dial
  • Includes shortcut keys you’d normally find on your PC or Mac
  • Cradle that holds your tablet or phone at just the right angle to read while typing
  • After pairing the devices, keyboard remembers them for easy connection
  • Comes in black or white

Pros:

  • It’s really convenient – typing texts and emails on my smartphone has never been faster!
  • Has a non-slip cradle to hold devices securely – it even worked with my phone’s case on
  • I LOVE being able to type my texts on my phone!
  • It’s great for an office – making multi-tasking between your PC and phone super easy!’
  • Includes a number of short-key keys like screen capture, volume, fast-forward, search, and more
  • The keys are full size and feel comfortable when typing
  • The keyboard is sturdy enough to hold your device without worry of it falling and works well on your lap

Cons:

  • Only works with PC’s and Macs that use Bluetooth
  • It’s a bit heavy, at 1.81 lbs.
  • Does not have a 10-key keypad due to it’s compact design
  • The keys make a noticeable click when typed upon

The Logitech Bluetooth Multi-Device Keyboard k480 is available in  black from Amazon for $39.34 plus free shipping.

Family Technology at it's Best

A Mom’s Perspective

I have found the Logitech Multi-Device keyboard to be very helpful in my day-to-day work.  I am certainly a faster typist than a texter and using the keyboard has helped me to be more efficient with my time.  I can work at my PC and keep in contact with friends and associates via texting on my phone using just one keyboard.  All I need to do is turn a dial on my Logitech keyboard and I can type on up to 3 devices/PC’s at one time, I love it!

I like that the keyboard is open to many platforms- meaning I can use it for Android, Windows, or Apple devices.  This works well in our family as we have Android tablets, iPad’s, and Windows PC’s.  This Logitech keyboard would also be great for grandparents.  They too hate to type on cellphones and this might just be the ticket you need to get them to begin texting more.  With the phone cradling so well within the keyboard, the phone will be kept upright and secure while they type.

I love the flexibility the Logitech Multi-Device keyboard affords and at under $40, it is actually less expensive than many other keyboards out there.
