Dead Phone Again? How to Keep Your Devices Powered

Ventev powercell 10000 + battery plug no dead battery Main

When I go to conferences or all-day meetings, I find it a challenge to keep my phone powered up throughout the day.  I usually run out of battery juice just when I want to take a unique picture of the event or the slide the presenter is referring to.  I cannot tell you how many times a dead phone has deterred me from greatness!

And often these days I don’t just travel with my phone.  I carry around a tablet too.  Keeping both devices up and running can be difficult. Battery consumption is even worse if I’m traveling with my kids.  With the games and videos they watch, battery power drains fast on their devices.  And no one likes a dead tablet or a dead phone!

Avoiding a Dead Phone Battery

We have tried a number of portable chargers over the years.  All are helpful, but there are a couple of battery charger characteristics that I have found are a MUST to make them useful.

During CES this year, we discovered the Venteev Powercell 10000+ battery charger.  This battery charger is right in-line with the top characteristics  we feel are important for a long-term battery charger solution.

Four Essentials When Buying a Portable Battery Charger

1.  SIZE OF BATTERY

Most smaller battery chargers have a small mAh amp wattage, which means they will probably not charge your phone all the way.  This is helpful when your battery is nearly drained and you need enough juice to make a phone call and send some messages, but it’s not going to last you the whole day.

The Ventev Powercell 10000+ has a 10,000mAh battery, which is strong enough to give you 42 additional hours of talk time!  Most smaller purse-sized batteries are only 2,000 mAh’s.

2.  BUILT-IN CABLES

This is one of the handiest features of any battery charger is to have the cables built into the unit.  All you need are short charging cables.

The Ventev Powercell 10000+ has two short built-in cables – one for charging Android/Window devices (microUSB) and one for charging newer Apple devices (lighting).

In fact, I can charge both my iPad Mini and my Galaxy Note 4 phone at the same time.

3.  CLEAR BATTERY INDICATOR

Nowadays, most battery chargers have some sort of indicator to show you how much battery power is left.  Often times this is represented with a series of small lights that go out as your battery charger drains.  It’s best to check the indicator before you go about your day.

The Ventev Powercell 10000+ is the first one we’ve seen that shows you the battery power by percentage – from 0 to 100.  This is a very handy indicator, allowing me to estimate how long it will be before I need to charge the Powercell again.

4.  BUILT-IN POWER ADAPTER

Many of the small chargers require a USB cable that goes from the charger to a USB power adaptor.  This is too much to carry around.

The Ventev Powercell 10000+ has a built-in power adaptor, allowing you to plug the battery charger into a wall outlet.  No need for extra cables or an extra plug, it’s built-in!

Although the battery pack is heavier than its smaller-sized peers, I find it’s worth it, as I will not run out of battery power during the day and it allows me to be generous in supplying power to others in need.

Features:

  • Has a large 10,000mAh battery
  • Includes 2 built-in charging cords – one Apple Lightning and one micro USB for Android/Windows phones and tablets
  • Includes a USB port to plug in a different charging cable if needed
  • Can charge three devices at once, including using the USB cable
  • Features a built-in AC prong that folds out to plug into the wall

Pros:

  • Has 3 times more the power than most smaller chargers, which means you can charge more devices…or the same device over and over again
  • Battery juice lasts a long time and keeps its charge
  • Includes a clear battery indicator, showing what percentage is left on the charger
  • You don’t need anything else, the cords and power AC plug is all built-in
  • I love that you can charge your phone, your husband’s phone, and your child’s tablet…..all at once!

Cons:

  • Is heavier than most charges because of the battery capacity it holds
  • Just a small learning curve – you need to press and hold the power button in order for it to start charging

A Mom’s Perspective

With the Ventev Powercell 10000+ power charger, a dead phone is a thing of the past.  Keep it in your car so when you need it, just throw it in your purse.  In fact, there’s no need to wait of a dead battery before you can be begin charging.

I’ll often begin using the Ventev Powercell 1000+ even when my battery is at 70-80%, so that later in the day, I won’t be caught by surprise by a dead phone.

And if you are traveling – whether on the plane or by car, by all means, take the charger, it will save you…and your family many times over.  I know I have taken off on trips before with too few cables, which means my devices at the hotel just don’t get charged all the way because I need to use the same cable to charge several different devices.

With the Ventev, I can plug it into the wall to charge the battery…as well as 3 other devices, it truly is a multi-saver device.  Perfect!
