Relive Your Stored Vacation Photos with VidMob!

Vidmob memories Main

Do you love photos?  Do you snap pictures and video with your phone everywhere you go?  Then I can imagine just how many photos you take while you’re on vacation.  When you’re on vacation, your mind is freed up more and you see all sorts of moments and memories you want to capture to save forever.

For me, it’s not uncommon to come home from vacation with over 300 photos and videos.  I’ll have pictures of beautiful scenery, our family having fun together, extended family and friends, and of course, I can’t forget those great selfies with my husband and kids!

When you get home from a trip, you might flip through the pics on your phone.  Perhaps you’ll share a few pics with your friends and post some on Facebook.  But after the busyness of your normal schedule catches up with you, you tend to forget about the great pics and videos you took.  Before you know it, those great memorable moments you captured become burdensome on your phone storage.

Bringing Back Your Favorite Moments

Life moves on and so do you.  But wouldn’t it be great if you could celebrate those moments altogether again in a new fresh way that excites your family…and some of your friends…to view the pictures and videos again?

A photo book is great, but it’s a lot of work to put together and there’s no way to display your vacation videos.  A slide show with music is fun, but again, it takes some work to organize everything.

A new app available in the iTunes Store (and soon Google Play) called VidMob.  It allows you to upload the photos and videos from your vacations, child’s first birthday, Christmas, wedding, and more to be edited by a video editor.  Just think, you can sit on your couch, choose photos and videos from your vacation, upload them, and choose an editor all within 10 minutes.

You are given a number of editors to choose from, each of which have posted examples of their edited work for you to review.  Each editor also gives you a quote on how much it will cost to edit your video.  After reviewing the editor’s bids and work, you choose the editor for your project.

How Much does VidMob Cost?

I uploaded 130 pictures and about 15 short videos and I paid $50.  I could have gotten a cheaper price from another video editor, but I really liked the work of Chyenne, the editor I chose.  With this selection, I would get 4 drafts, which means that the editor could make changes based on my comments up to 3 times before the final draft would be presented.

The VidMob Drafting Process

Chyenne was great at answering my questions and getting the first draft to me within my specified time frame.

I uploaded my photos and videos and had the option to add notes to my pictures so the editor could understand better what was going on while viewing the photos.

But all the photos were not just on my phone.  I had pictures on my friend’s phone and Dropbox as well.  VidMob is integrated with Dropbox and you can access photos from Dropbox from within the VidMob app.  I loved how easy it was.

In order to get photos from friends or other family members to collaborate on a project, you can invite them through VidMob to your project.  This is such a great feature.  This way family members can contribute photos and videos from their phones as well as comment on photos, allowing them to participate in the project.

Chyenne was able to get me my first rough draft within 2 days.  It took about a couple of weeks to go back and forth with comments and edit updates.

Here is the video Chyenne put together for me.  The first couple of times I saw it, I had tears in my eyes.  And the funny thing is, it wasn’t even my vacation!  I put this video together for some good friends of ours who had the opportunity to go to Australia for a family reunion.

See what you think….

For my friends in this video, this once-in-a-lifetime vacation they took last year, has come back alive for them as they watched the pictures and videos of a trip they would never forget.  It was a joy to hear them laugh and remember moments as they watched the movie together.

Family Technology at it's Best

A Mom’s Perspective

I think of several trips I have taken with my family and how I’d love to use VidMob to get the photos out of my phone and make them into a memorable video so the memories would come alive again.  Think about how giving a video like this to a friend, what an impact it would make.

The VidMob app is free.  The pricing of edited videos varies dependent upon the number of videos and pics and deadline of your project.  Though, the time it takes to make such a memorable gift that you save by having someone who loves editing do it…is priceless.
