Relief for Nausea in Sight on the High Seas

Reliefband for Nausea main

Our family loves to cruise, but getting seasick is not something we handle well.  For the most part, the cruises we’ve taken in past years haven’t caused any sea sickness, but all it takes is one rough day at sea or even a somewhat mild sea day but with ceaseless rocking.

My family and I just came back from a cruise to Japan.  I’ve always wanted to go since I was a little girl and I heard about my Gram’s visit there.  We embarked upon the Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas – one of the largest ships at sea.  It was a fantastic ship with bumper cars, roller skating, indoor skydiving, fantastic restaurants, and an attentive crew.  With such a large ship, with the latest technology to quell waves, I figured we’d be good.

But, I just didn’t want to take the chance.  In our Best Travel Tools for Family Vacations, we wrote about how the Reliefband brings relief for nausea from motion sickness.  So I brought the Reliefband along…just in case we encountered rough seas.

Our first days at sea we super calm.  I was in some ways disappointed that I wouldn’t be able to try out the effectiveness of the Reliefband.  But as we continued on our way, the gentle rolling became moderate rolling.  You especially feel it at night when you’re lying down; I began to feel a bit of nausea.

I took out the Reliefband, rolled on the ointment that came with it, and put the Reliefband on the underside of my right wrist.

Relief for Nausea

Reliefband works

The Reliefband helps nausea by using Neuromodulation, which sends out highly specific waveforms, frequencies, and intensity pulses to the median nerve on the underside of the wrist.

It uses your body’s natural pathways to block the waves of nausea produced by your stomach.  These signals travel to the body’s central nervous system and to the higher emetic center of the brain to relieve nausea.

Makes sense?  Well, basically, once you strap Relief Band on your wrist, you will feel an electric pulse going up into your hand. You can adjust the intensity to what is most comfortable to you.

Out of 5 levels, I found that I tolerated level 2 the best. I could definitely feel the electrical pulses traveling up my wrist.  I felt nothing on Level 1 but at Level 2, the neuromodulation was definitely noticeable, but tolerable.  I did not try any higher levels.

After using the Reliefband for less than 5 minutes, I was already feeling better, my nausea was going away, which is good because than my 13 year-old daughter started complaining she wasn’t feeling too hot.

I put the ointment on her and let her wear the Reliefband.  She could only tolerate Level 1, she didn’t like feeling the electrical pulses.  Within 5 minutes, she was no longer feeling her nausea.

I had my doubts before using Reliefband, but I am certainly a believer now.  I have never had such near-instant relief from a anti-nausea disc or band before.  And I love that the band doesn’t need to be worn BEFORE you get nauseous, you can actually put it on once you already feel nausea coming on.

Migraines & Vertigo

From what I’ve read online, Reliefband can also help those with vertigo or even migraine headaches.  Later on our trip, I had a migraine headache…while at Disney Sea (a Disney amusement park next to Disneyland Tokyo).  How I wish I had known to use the Reliefband, it would have been so helpful.

Motion Sickness

Reliefband is also used widely for morning sickness.  Morning sickness often accompanies early pregnancy, but up to 40% of women continue to have symptoms into their 2nd trimester and up to 20% throughout their entire pregnancy.

Can you imagine?  Perhaps you can, you’ve been there.  Pregnant women who suffer through morning sickness can finally feel relief in a natural way that does not harm baby or mother.

Reliefband is FDA approved and has been around for 20+ years in clinical and hospital settings and now is available over-the-counter.

A Mom’s Perspective

If you suffer from motion or morning sickness, Reliefband will give you instant relief.  I will no longer go on a cruise without taking Reliefband with me, I used Reliefband on two separate occasions while on our cruise and felt relief both times within a few minutes.  It also worked for my daughter.

Reliefband is one of those items that you won’t use much…unless your have nausea from pregnancy or travel frequently.  But when you have it with you and you need it, you will be so glad you brought it.  For people who feel nauseous on planes or even cars, Reliefband will pay for itself.

I remember my family’s annual trip to visit my grandparents in the mountains.  After saying goodbye, we’d eat a big breakfast, then head down the mountain.  I was constantly getting sick in the back of the car. If your children experience nausea while traveling in the back of your car, I would strongly suggest Reliefband.  It will give them nearly instant relief and decrease your stress level.

Reliefband helps nausea

I have heard it even helps those experiencing nausea through chemotherapy.  What other areas are you suffering from motion sickness?  Car rides?  Flying?  Amusement park rides?  Boating?    Share with us in the comment section below.
