CES 2015: 5 Great Gadgets for Moms

CES2015 5 Great Gadgets for Moms Main

Moms do their best everyday to provide comfort, safety, and care for their families.  Moms can’t do it all alone.  There are more gadgets than every before to help moms navigate obstacles and provide comfort, but with so many on the market, it’s nearly impossible to know what’s out there.

Every year when we visit the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), we look for great gadgets for moms that will make life easier for you or for your children.  We found some really cool ones this year that we are sure you’re gonna love.  All these products will be available later in the year.

Weego Heavy Duty Battery and Jump Starter

CES2015 WellConnectedMom.com (153)

I’m super excited about this first item, the Weego JS12 Heavy Duty Jump Starter Battery.  Now granted, this doesn’t sound like a typical “Mom” product, but let me tell you more about this amazing invention.  It’s a multi-functional tool that can fit in a pocket and charge your phones, tablets, mp3 players…even your laptop!  So you can take it with you on the go and power the family’s electronics on road trips.

But as the name implies, the Weego Heavy Duty Jump Starter Battery can actually start your car (moped, motorcycle, ATV, truck…even a boat!) should you need a jump.  With it’s included cables, just hook it up to your battery, rev your engine for a bit, and you’re on your way.  Always forget which color goes on what charge on your car battery?  The instructions are on the back of the battery.

The Weego Heavy Duty Jump Starter Battery is perfect your car and can ease any fears about being stranded with a dead battery and no one to help.  It is also ideal to put in your teens car to assist with the same situation.  The Weego provides convenience and peace of mind.  And I love the fact that it can also keep a laptop charged too on the road.  The Weego Heavy Duty Jump Starter Battery sells for $129.99 from the Weego website.

Sengled Pulse LED Light + Speaker

CES2015 WellConnectedMom.com M (3)

I was immediately enamored by a company named Sengled who produces a variety of automated LED lights.  Their two newest products caught my attention.  The first is the red light you see in the picture above, called the Pulse.  It combines LED efficient lighting with a JBL multi-channel wireless stereo hidden within.  The Sengled Pulse comes in a two pack. Just screw the bulbs into your existing lamp sockets and once you download the app, you will have stereo sound in your room and LED lighting, all controlled from your smartphone or tablet.

Stream your favorite tunes, Pandora, I Heart Radio, whatever you want.  You can install up to 8 Pulse light bulbs throughout the house, controlled by the app.  In a matter of minutes you have installed your first home automation project featuring both controlled lighting and sound.  The Sengled Pulse is perfect for relaxing at home or entertaining friends.

Sengled also came out with their new Snap light bulb, which combines a LED light with a HD 1080P super large angle view video camera to record what it sees.  The Snap features voice and action recognition to begin recording video.  Installation is as simple as screwing in a light bulb.  Real-time viewing and playback can be seeing on your smartphone.  The Snap is perfect for watching activity outside your home such as the front door, the garage, the play area, and the pool.  Pricing is not available for the Snap just yet, it will be available later this year.

LG Mini-Washer

CES2015 LG WellConnectedMom.com (22)

This new innovation by LG is going to knock your socks off (and clean them too!).  LG’s new front-loading LG Twin Wash System + Mini Washer offers something very unique.  The Mini Washer is a separate pedestal that includes a 1.0 cubic foot washer!  You can do your large laundry loads in the main washer and wash your delicates, kids’ uniform, lingerie, blue jeans, new red shirts, cloth diapers, or other smaller loads in your LG Mini Washer!  What a convenience!

The  front-loading LG Twin Washer comes in three sizes, a 5.6, 5.2, or 4.5 cubic feet capacities.  Pricing is not available at this time.  The good news is that if you’re not in the market for a new washer and dryer, you will still be able to order the Mini-Washer pedestal separately!  See more about LG’s newest appliances in our article, LG Appliance Euphoria at CES 2015.

Keyfree Digital Car Keys

CES2015 WellConnectedMom.com (181)

Here’s another product that brings convenience to mom’s lives.  I’m sure there are plenty of times you have approached your car with your arms full and no convenient way to reach in your purse, find your keys, and open the door.  With the new upcoming product, Keyfree, you will no longer need your keys, in fact, you can leave them at home!

Keyfree is an after-market product that you have a professional install onto your car.  Once installed, you install the Keyfree app on your phone and sync it with the device installed in your car.  Now, when you approach your car, the door automatically unlocks for you.  Some of the newer cars have this convenience with the key FOB, but this is even easier, you don’t need to haul around a Key FOB.

And even more convenient, you can now send a key digitally to someone else so that they too can get into your car and use it.  No physical key is needed to start the car.  In addition, you can check on the location of your car online, see reports on usage and performance, and receive notifications of any engine problems.

Keyfree is a great convenience and will likely change the way we all get into and start our cars in the future.  Keyfree is likely to sell for under $200 but you will need to have it professionally installed.

HealBe GoBe Body Manager

Healbe GoBe Body Manager

The GoBe Body Manager by Healbe is a game changer for moms!  Throw away your food journals, you won’t need them anymore!  The GoBe Body Manager tells you the time, tracks your steps, distance traveled, calories burned, hydration levels, heart, rate, sleep, stress level…and even calorie intake!  Yes, you heard me right, the GoBe tracks your calories consumed by assessing glucose concentration rate under your skin.

Now it can take a couple of hours for your food to process through your body, so you won’t have an accurate rate of calories in vs. out until you’ve stopped eating and waited for the day/night.  But you will be able to see how you’re progressing throughout the day.

There are so many health items being tracked, the GoBe is such a useful device.  We all know hydration levels are important, can you imagine seeing an image on your phone that lets you know at any given time whether you’re making the suggested goal of 8 glasses of water a day?

If you think the GoBe Body Manager is an incredible breakthrough, you’re not alone.  According to the GoBe’s Indiegogo campaign, it wanted to raise $100,000 to produce units, and it was funded at $1,081,070!  Obviously, there’s a lot of interest for automatic calorie tracking.  Visit the Indiegogo page to see a wealth of information about the GoBe, like how it works, how it compares to other trackers, and videos of its use.

The HealBe GoBe Manager has a limited quantity available for sale now with shipment in February for $299.99, available from its website.
