Are You Constantly Checking Your Phone?

Ditto Main

Are you constantly checking your phone? Do you feel consumed by your smartphone, constantly getting updates, emails, and texts?  According to a recent Washington Times article, Americans spend, on average, 5 hours a day on their phones!

The creators of Ditto want us to rethink how we spend our time.  They have created a small device to alert us when those important to us need to get a hold of us.  By setting up custom vibration alerts or alarms, we can choose to put away our phone while we spend quality time with those we love.

Set-Up Is a Breeze!

Ditto comes with a small watch battery, a clip, and a wrist strap.  Putting it all together was simple and I was ready to connect to my Ditto app in a matter of moments.  You can wear your Ditto clipped onto your clothes or on your wrist.  I preferred the clip on method, as the wrist strap seemed a bit flimsy.

Once you download the Ditto app (iTunes/Google Play), the Ditto is paired via Bluetooth.  You are able to choose custom vibrations for emails, text messages and more.    You can also select specific people from your contact list to receive alerts from.

Constantly Checking Your Phone?

One of the best uses of the ditto has been visiting my friend who had been in the hospital fighting Leukemia.  I wanted to visit her and not be rude about watching my phone.  The Ditto allowed me to set up my custom contact list and it would vibrate only when I received a call or message from the people I wanted to be alerted of.

I didn’t have to worry about missing an important message from my kids or husband (it turns out that the kids got out of school early that day and I forgot to remind my husband).  Thankfully, I was able to get the message and relay it to my husband.

No need keep constantly checking your phone.  The Ditto is small and discreet.  You can leave your phone on the counter or in your purse.  The signal carries throughout the house.  Even better, the Ditto is waterproof.  You can take it to the beach or to the pool without  getting your phone ruined!

Family Technology at it's Best

A Mom’s Perspective

The Ditto is a great device to allow you to be present with your family and friends without constantly checking your phone.  Personally, I don’t have a land line – so if someone needs to get in touch with me – it is through my cell phone.  So most times, I feel like I need to keep my phone close by.

The Ditto is a fantastic way to unplug, without the worry of missing important calls.  I appreciate this train of thought, as it seems like all too often we are consumed by technology and our smart phones.  Being able to give my friends and family my full attention is a great feeling and I know those I am with appreciate it too.
