Happy New Years!
Need help creating your New Year’s resolutions this year? Try the New Year’s resolution generator. It will give you some resolutions you may not have thought about.
BUT…
Do you have trouble keeping up with or remembering your resolutions by the end of the year? Or perhaps by the end of March?
If you are interested in making a New Year’s resolution but would prefer a simpler method, I have a suggestion for you.
Instead of a list of things you’ll do better…
choose just ONE WORD to guide you through the year.
Think of that word often as motivation to help propel you in your goals and attitudes.
Perhaps your word is…
- Organization
- Humility
- Faithful
- Discernment
- Love
- Contentment
- Hope
- Serving
- Grateful
- Self-discipline
- Healthy eating (2 words OK)
- and more
Picking one word can keep you focused in several areas of your life and it is a lot easier to remember than a list of resolutions. Looking for some more one word ideas? The team at Ground Floor Media shared their words.
A friend of mine gave me this insight a number of years ago, but I recently became reacquainted with the idea by a devotional I read by Mike Ashcraft.
He has a book out on it and a website called MyOneWord.org. Here are some words some of his readers came up with.
Curious about my one word for 2019? Humility. I believe a focus on humility will decrease stress, provide a better connection with others, and help prioritize better.
I suggested my family members come up with words of their own. My daughter said her word is organization. My son said sleep. LOL. I suppose that’s an area we could all do better on!
How about you? What’s your one word?
Happy New Year’s!
