What’s a disposable party? It’s where you greatly minimize on the work needed after a party by using disposable plates, napkins, utensils, platters, etc. More often than not, I have been using disposable plates and utensils for our parties. A big reason is because I don’t have enough plates and utensils for everyone. I have tried using “nicer” plastic ware before, but it typically ends up in the trash and my sets quickly dwindle.
MyBlogSpark.com is a company similar to MomSelect that offers bloggers opportunities to review new products and services. In November, I was given the opportunity to review Mozaik’s new Service for 8,which is a 40 piece kit including spoons, forks, knives, dinner plates, and salad plates for 8 people. MyBlogSpark.com also sent some serving
utensils, two platters and a large bowl*.
I knew I had a couple of parties coming up, so I used the Mozaik service ware for one of them. I really like the plates and utensils – they look like fine china and silver polished utensils. They are very elegant, yet when you hold them, they are incredibly light. It’s only when you pick them up that you realize they are made from plastic.
Pretty cool.
A number of my guests commented on the plates and utensils, they had never seen them
before. The Mozaik service ware did look really nice. I was curious to see what the guests were going to do with the plates and utensils after they were done with them. Would they throw them out?
Would they leave them in the sink? The plates were all saved but a number of the utensils were thrown out. Interesting.
On the package Mozaik says the service ware can be cleaned and re-used. This will work for the
plates, but the reality is that because the utensils are lightweight, they most likely will be thrown away. Nonetheless, Mozaik provides a great answer to having last minute dinner guests over – don’t worry about polishing the silver, digging out your fine china, and then cleaning it all by hand later that night. Mozaik’s Service for 8 takes care of all of that for you…and better yet…it costs under $10!
I can see
having several kits on hand to take out and use as the need arises. How nice it
would be to focus on cooking the dinner while you have your kids set the table with unbreakable, “nice-looking” china. And the serving platters, serving utensils, and bowl works well to display your cooking creations. Using Mozaik could really take a lot of the burden out of entertaining. They even have a 40-piece appetizer set to dress up your before dinner-bites.
So, the next time you invite friends over for dinner, remember that Mozaik can be your new “helping hand” with the dinner party.
