Botzees Junior STEAM Dino Building Blocks

BOTZEES Junior Dinosaur Kit comes with over 100 dino building blocks to build fun dinosaurs using the app.

Following up on its success of the Botzees robots, Pai Technology created a STEAM set for younger children, ages 3+ called the  Botzees Junior – Dino Pack.

Like Botzee robots, the Junior set comes with large colorful plastic and silicone rounded blocks to build with, only in this kit, kids build dinosaurs.

Dino Building Blocks

Kids use the Botzees Junior app to see in 3D each block that is needed and where it goes to build one of three dinosaurs. 

It is fun to see their creations come to life as they add each dino building block together.

Kids can also build their own creations.

I love the blocks,  they are big yet easy-to-grip and made with soft edges, unlike typical building blocks.

The kit comes with 102 dino building blocks, a play landscape, and lots of decals with eye color choices for the dinosaur’s eyes.

The Botzees Junior app guides kids through the building as well as encourages kids to learn about dinosaurs and their surroundings.

• Uses 3D AR to show how to put the dino building blocks together to create a dinosaur works, it works well
• Block colors are fun and inviting for kids
• Comes with a playground mat to enhance play with the dinosaurs
• Round edge blocks – safer for little hands
• Constructed dinosaurs allow for head and leg movement for more engaging play
• Each dinosaur uses particular colors, for the most part, making it easier to identify pieces later if rebuilt

CONS:

• The dino building blocks can be hard to take apart
• The QR Code exploration is of dinosaur facts is lackluster

A Mom’s Perspective

The BOTZEES line of STEAM toys are fun and engaging for kids.  Using the app, kids can go step-by-step to see how to build their dinosaur.

The dino building blocks can even be turned around to better see the piece kids should place on their dinosaur.

With over 102 pieces, kids will need to sort through the building blocks to ensure they have the right one.

Initially, each dinosaur’s pieces are individually packaged, but after they are built and later put away, they tend to get mixed together.

Since each dinosaur has its main colors, rebuilding a dinosaur again will be easier.

Augmented Reality (AR) is not used with the BOTZEE Junior sets, as with the BOTZEE robot kit, but they are a great way to introduce kids to building via the app and seeing a unique combination of blocks to build a dinosaur.

Later, when kids grow a little older, they can easily move onto the BOTZEE robot kit to build similar to this kit but the app also engages kids through Augmented Reality challenges.
