Do you suffer from allergies? Are you concerned about the air you breathe? Most people are unaware that our indoor air quality in the home can often be 2-5 times worse than our outside air quality.
Today, there are 43 million Americans with asthma, 40 million with allergies, and new cases of those with allergies are increasing by large numbers each year. Even if you don’t have allergies or asthma, you probably should consider ways to clean the air in your house before allergies affect you or your children.
So what can poor air quality result in?
- Allergies
- Asthma
- Dry Eyes
- Cancer
- Headaches
- Trouble Concentrating
- Infections
- Fatigue
- Irritation
Air quality in the home is a serious matter. Just how often do you clean the air by opening the windows and bringing fresh air inside?
We hardly ever opened the doors until we tested out the Foobot. Foobot is a handy little contraption that tests the air for you and gives you a visual clue when you need to clean the air and ventilate the room.
I often use household cleaners and cook things on the stove that causes Foobot to shudder. I turn on the stovetop fan and open a window, but there is more I can do to clean the air.
Pollutants in Your Home
Your home is filled with all sorts of contaminants which can cause your eyes and nose to be irritated, sickness, and allergies and asthma to flare up. So even if you don’t have allergies or asthma, you’re still affected by the air you breathe in your home.
So what are the pollutants and factors you are breathing in that are so harmful?
-
Pollens
- Dust Mite Allergens
- Pet Dander Allergens
- Household cleaners
- Pesticides
- Construction Materials
- Mold and Mildew
- Humidity
- Temperature
- Fireplaces in Use
- Ventilation
- Viruses
- Bacteria
- Ozone (O3)
Clean the Air
When you’re ready to clean the air, look for a filterless air purifier. Filters trap contaminants, but don’t rid of them.
Over time, filters need to be replaced. If not replaced, their effectiveness is greatly minimized. And replacing filters adds to the cost of your air purification investment.
We recently tested the Airfree P3000 Air Purifier to clean the air in our home. Frankly, the need for an air purifier never has hit my radar. But after researching about the importance of breathing in healthy air after testing the Foobot, the AirFree P3000 Air Purifier, and reading the EPA’s findings about inside air quality, I definitely see the need for one in our household.
I’ve heard of different types of air purifiers – those with air filters, UV lights, and ions before and thought Airfree might be similar to the latter two of these kinds.
But that’s not the case, Airfree uses an exclusive and patented technology called Thermodynamic TSS Technology that has been tested in laboratories in six different countries, proving that Airfree destroys microorganisms no matter how small or hazardous.
How Airfree Works
- Air enters into the Airfree Air Purifier by natural air convection through its vents
- Microorganisms are eliminated inside the ceramic, sterilization at temperatures of close to 400 °F, and destroying them in a fraction of a second
- The sterilized air is cooled before being returned to the room
- The purified air dissipated throughout the environment
The Airfree P3000 Air Purifier process over 5200 gallons of air pass through the Airfree device every hour, treating all the air in the room in a 650 sq. ft. room or less in a small amount of time.
The Airfree process is similar to that of boiling water to sterilize things. Airfree draws in the room in the air, heats it to 400 degrees F and sterilizes it. The heated purified air is then cooled down and returned into the room.
Features:
- Exclusive Thermodynamic TSS technology patented technology to fully destroy contaminants
- Purifies air in rooms up to 650 sq ft.
- There are no emissions, no ions, nor new particles are generated during air purification
- Airfree technology has been tested and proven by dozens of laboratories worldwide
- A glowing thermal blue light that can be used as a nightlight or turned off
- Small and portable
- No maintenance needed
- Low energy consumption
Pros:
- You cannot detect any sound
- Air is completely purified with no by-products resulting
- No filters are needed, air is completely cleaned and sent back into the room
- Greatly reduces contaminants in the room, thus reducing possible illnesses
- Gets rid of even the smallest particles that can cause allergies to flare
- Covers 650 sq. ft., which is a pretty large area
Cons:
- Is a little pricey
- Smells like burned plastic when you first plug it in…but this goes away after a couple of days
- Doesn’t work throughout the house, will need a separate purifier for each major living area to clean the air
The Airfree p3000 Air Purifier is available from Amazon for $299.00 plus free shipping.
A Mom’s Perspective
My husband and daughter suffer from allergies…especially when pollens are at their highest in the Spring. I will move the Airfree P3000 Air Purifier into one of their bedrooms when Spring hits, hoping to greatly minimize the effects of allergy pollutants.
I love that the Airfree P3000 completely destroys even the smallest of irritants through its patented Thermodynamic TSS Technology and that no by-products are left behind, only sterilized air to help clean the air. I can definitely see the benefit of having a couple Airfree units throughout the house.
To think that Airfree actually kills off bacteria and viruses too is amazing. It’s bad enough when one family member gets sick…you can usually count the days when the next one falls to the same sickness. The Airfree P3000 Air Purifier will now be one of the tools in our arsenal to fight off sickness from spreading to others.
