The month of June is full of graduations, a great time to celebrate.  And June also hosts Father’s Day, the best day of the year to honor your Dad.  It’s a busy month and taking the time to find just the right gift can be hard.  As we do every year, the WellConnectedMom.com spent hours walking the Consumer Electronics Show trade show this year in search of the best and unique products helpful for our Grads and Dads.  We found some very unique ones this year that start from $10 up to $$109.  Take a look and leave a comment to let us know of any gadgets you think should make the list!

Aqua Dry Bag

The Aqua Dry Bag is a gift you can give hope never gets used.  It’s basically an insurance policy.  Should your Grad or Dad ever drop her/his phone. mp3 player, remote control, or any small electronic gadget in the pool, toilet, or any body of water, the Aqua Dry Bag and help revive it.  Simply take out the SD card (if a smartphone) and battery and place in the Dry Aqua Bag for 48-72 hours.  Remove the gadget, put the SD card and battery back in and it should work again!  No need to buy a new device!  The Aqua Dry Bag price has a new decreased price at $13.49 and can be purchased directly through XOSkins.

Perch

Perch is a simple $10 device that is an “accessory” to any of your charging units.  It plugs into the wall and you plug your cellphone, mp3 player, tablet, handheld gaming system, any gadget charger into Perch.  The purpose of Perch is to ensure that when you unplug your gadget, you don’t forget to take the charger with you.  After you unplug your gadget, you can easily get distracted checking e-mail’s or texts.  Perch will “chirp” to remind you to grab your charger.  According to Lost Prevention Systems, makers of Perch, the Wall Street Journal reports that hotels recover a lost charger nearly every day.  This results in millions of lost chargers every year!  Many times you plug your charger in a bathroom, behind a bed, or at a desk and it’s easy to unplug and forget.  And for Grads, their lives are busy.  Perch can remind them to take their chargers with them to ensure they don’t get caught without battery power later in the day.  Perch sells for $9.99 plus shipping and will be available for sale soon from the Perch website.

Wormhole Station (JUH320V2)

I’ve got to say, the name of this gadget isn’t the best sounding, but it really packs a lot of punch to it.  To get a better understanding of the the name, I consulted a dictionary.  A wormhole is a theoretical distortion of space-time in a region of the universe that would link one location or time with another, through a path that is shorter in distance or duration than would otherwise be expected.  That being said, it is a perfect name for this gadget.  The Wormhole Station is a device that can plug into two different computers, netbooks, or laptops to share information quickly between the two computers.  Easily move documents, photos, or music between two computers…even if one if a Mac and the other is a PC!  You can also use the Wormhole Station to seamlessly work between computers, doubling your workspace to two monitors as you work.  The Wormhole Station is a quick and easy way to share data between computers without the worry of firewalls or trying to connect to a network.  The Wormhole Station can do even more and sells for $109.99 plus shipping through Frys.com.

L5 Remote

The makers of the L5 Remote proclaim the L5 to be “a coffee table full of remotes on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.”  Take matters into your own hands with the L5 Remote.  No longer do you need to look for your remotes for your TV, DVD player, Stereo Receiver, DVR, etc.  You can house them all on your iPhone or iPad.  With the L5 Remote, you can downsize to one remote instead of 2,3,4,5, or however many you have.  Even better, you can customize your L5 Remote app to the buttons you use the most.  You can make buttons for your favorite activities like Movie, Watch TV, Music, Play XBox, you can create buttons for your favorite channels like Oxygen, Lifetime, Disney, Discovery, NBC, and even create macros easily so that when you press XBox, your TV input is changed and your Stereo receiver changes to the movie sound setting for better effects.  You can even change the skins, or as L5 puts it, change the “clothes for your remote,” to suit your mood.  Dads and Grad would enjoy the fun tech gadget that gives them more control.  The L5 Remote sells for $59 plus shipping (was only $5 to my zip code) for the device that plugs into your Apple device.  The app itself is free and available through the iTunes Store.

RTA iPad Case with Keyboard (RTA-SITCK02)

I have been trying out the RTA iPad Case with Keyboard for several months now. It is by far my most favorite iPad keyboard we have tested.  It fully wraps the iPad, protecting it from falls and incorporates the Bluetooth keyboard, which acts as a strong protector against the glass of the iPad.  There’s no doubt the case adds to the profile and weight of the iPad, but it is very convenient and looks professional.  It is made of synthetic leather but it looks like just like leather and is less costly as a result.  I take my iPad everywhere and there are no signs of wear yet on this case.  The case unfolds into a flexible stand, allowing your to horizontally set up your iPad at different angles to accommodate desk or lying on your back levels.  The RTA iPad Case with Keyboard retails at Amazon.com for $73.99 plus shipping.
