Like many Americans, I have a job where I sit at a desk for most of the day. Studies have shown that increased time sitting can be harmful to your health. The Mayo Clinic shares,
“One study compared adults who spent less than two hours a day in front of the TV or other screen-based entertainment with those who logged more than four hours a day of recreational screen time. Those with greater screen time had:
- A nearly 50 percent increased risk of death from any cause
- About a 125 percent increased risk of events associated with cardiovascular diseases, such as chest pain (angina) or heart attack” source: Mayoclinic.org
Moving your body throughout the day is a great way to combat the negative effects of a sedentary work environment. I LOVE the FlexiSpot Deskcise Pro bike desk because it can help do just that!
What is a Deskcise Pro Bike Desk?
The FlexiSpot Deskcise Pro is part exercise bike, part desk. It offers you many different options in place of the typical office desk and chair.
First, the bike has a built-in desk for your work or laptop. The desktop moves easily up and down as well as horizontal (closer to your stomach or further away).
I was able to use this bike desk in my office in two different ways:
- I have a personal desk with an iMac, as well as a laptop. I was able to use my standard desk/computer by sliding the bike close enough to my desk and only use the mouse and keyboard on the bike desk.
- Additionally, I was able to successfully us the Deskcise Pro bike desk while placing my laptop on the provided desk. Using this setup, I could easily move the bike desk to any area in the house, including my backyard (as you can see, it’s on wheels)!
The second use for the Deskcise Pro bike desk is for an actual exercise bike! The Deskcise Pro has a tension dial to allow you to choose the level of your resistance.
Although I did not use the bike desk for a full workout, the option is definitely there and there were times when I had to dial down the tension so that I wasn’t out of breath during a conference call!
Finally, the Deskcise Pro bike desk can be used as a standing desk. The versatility of the desk allows you to customize your height preference. This is also a great alternative to the standard desk/chair combo!
Features and Specs
The FlexiSpot Deskcise Pro bike desk was unbelievably easy to set up. It literally took me less than five minutes from opening the box to having it ready to go.
For an exercise bike, the seat itself was not bad. I was expecting to have a sore bottom after using it for a few hours during conference calls. However, the bike seat provides enough cushion where I was not sore.
I would not, though, want to sit on it for a full 8 hour day. Additionally, the Deskcise Pro bike desk also tracks the time you ride, the distance and the calories burned.

A Mom’s Perspective
I honestly was completely blown away by the FlexiSpot Deskcise Pro bike desk. On average, I log about 15 miles per work day while participating in telephone conferences and working on emails.
It is such a nice change of pace to get my body moving during the day and not get all stiff from my desk chair. I was thrilled about how easy it was to set up.
I would like for the desk to have a tilt option, but that definitely wasn’t a deal breaker. The biggest drawback to this FlexiSpot Deskcise Pro bike desk is the price tag. Coming in just under $500, it won’t fit every budget.
However, if you can swing it, I have found that it gives me more energy throughout the day and makes me less sluggish.
FlexiSpot has a wide variety of standing desks and under the desk options to help suit your budget and preferences.
