OK, admit it, how many of you have tried to use your phone as a mirror? Perhaps you used your camera or even video camera to see if there’s something in your teeth or if your lipstick is applied correctly. I know I’m guilty. And every time I do it I’m disappointed. The camera is just not strong enough to get a good view. A friend of mine struggled with this dilemma years ago and thought if she could come up with a way to make a mirror app, she’d be rich! I agreed with her, but still couldn’t see how the camera would be strong enough in the app to do the trick.
Flash forward 3 years. In my research of various products, I came across a company called Simply Solved, by Marcy McKenna. McKenna is a busy mother of three whose passion is in solving everyday problems. One of her latest inventions is the Diamond Shield. No, it’s not an app, but a mobile screen protector that also doubles as a mirror. This thin layer of protection is super strong. In fact, McKenna’s company even claims that the screen protector is strong enough to withstand an electric drill! Now that’s something I’d like to see, but I opted not to try it on my Galaxy S4!

A Mom’s Perspective
I LOVE having a mirror as a part of my phone. The Diamond Shield is so handy and works beautifully. My reflection is very clear…perhaps too clear at times! Alright, I don’t look as beautiful as the first picture in this post, my selfie looks a little dorky…though I prefer geeky. Nonetheless, I wanted to show you how clear the screen looks. The Diamond Shield is a good unique gift to remember for Christmas. It’s different, yet essential once you have one.
Besides checking your make-up and lost food particles in your mouth, how else might you use your phone as a mirror?
I shamelessly admit to using the reflective qualities of my cell phone’s screen protector as an impromptu mirror. I had no idea that they had actually mirror-like screen protectors. How neat! 🙂
I know, right? And it works great, too. Thanks for commenting.
