MocaHeart is a small device that helps you assess your heart health by tracking your heart rate, oxygen levels, and blood flow. What a great tool for those suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes, and asthma! Heart disease and heart failure are on the rise in our nation.
What can we do to help combat the increase of heart problems, both genetically inherited or environmentally induced? Watching over your heart health by tracking your vitals and discussing them with your family physician is a great stride in taking your health into your own hands.
Heart Health at Your Fingertips
The MocaHeart device connects wirelessly to your smartphone, via Bluetooth. Once you have created your account and connect, you simply place both thumbs on the device and wait approximately 25 seconds. You will be able to see your heart rate, your oxygen levels and your Moca Index in the MocaHeart app on your phone or tablet.
You can easily track your heart health in the MocaHeart app, available both in iTunes and Google Play.
MOCA Index
The MOCA Index is a 1-5 scale that measures your blood flow in relation to your blood pressure.
1- Low – This is not usually a cause for concern, but you may experience dizziness or become light headed with a Low index score.
2 – Ideal – Your vitals are within the Ideal range.
3 – Raised – Your index is higher than normal. This is not usually dangerous, but if it continues to measure at “Raised.” you may want to adjust your lifestyle.
4- High – Your index is higher than normal. Measure your index more frequently and contact your doctor if you continue to measure in the Raised zone.
5- Very High – MocaHeart suggests waiting a couple of minutes and retaking your vitals. If it measures in the 5 zone again, contact medical professionals immediately.
Heart Rate
The first step in assessing your heart health is knowing your heart rate. MocaHeart measures to give you insight into how well your heart is pumping blood throughout your body. You can measure your resting heart rate, as well as your peak heart rate during exercise. The MocaHeart app even allows you to make notes next to your readings so you can know if you just woke up, just finished working out or if you were stress out.
Blood Oxygen
Blood oxygen is important for good heart health too. SpO2 stands for your blood oxygen level. Oxygen levels can help you, especially if you have heart or lung issues, like asthma. Additionally, it is great information if you are in high altitudes.
The MocaHeart can be purchased for $149 plus shipping directly from MocaCare. If you hurry, they have a current sale price of $119, a $30 savings!
A Mom’s Perspective
Personally, I suffer from asthma. I was able to see how my oxygen levels varied based on my exercise, and the air conditions outside. I have a friend who has raised blood pressure. It is important to be able to watch trends and see improvements especially when you are trying to improve your heart health without medication.
You can track how your exercise and dietary changes improve your index numbers. The MocaHeart is a great tool to watch trends and discuss with your health care provider. MocaHeart was also selected as a finalist by the American Heart Association’s Health Tech Competition. Take charge of your heart health with MocaHeart!
