With three boys, our house can get a bit loud at times. A typical afternoon for us: One boy is practicing piano, one is watching Netflix on our tablet, and the other one is practicing his trombone or electric guitar in his bedroom. The one watching Netflix keeps pushing up the volume because he can’t hear over the piano and the boy practicing piano is hollering at the one on the tablet to turn it down because he can’t concentrate. Monster’s N-Tune On-Ear headphones make a world of difference to cut down the noise and the chaos in our house.
Our son on the tablet can now hear his tablet at a normal sound level and he is not irritating his brothers that are practicing. In fact, if I talk to him at a normal volume, he doesn’t even realize that I am talking to him because the headphones do such a great job blocking out sound.
The N-Tune headphones have great sound – extreme clarity and depth with incredible sounding bass. But what is especially fun for my kids is that they are Candy Apple Red and super cool looking. (There are a ton of colors to choose from – you can pick which one best describes who you are!) They are also very light-weight and comfortable.
Another feature that is quite fun is the ability to music share. Each set of headphones comes with a MusicShare cable. Each headphone comes with a dual-port input that allows up to five headphones to connect to each other and share audio experiences.
When our headphones arrived in the mail, we immediately noticed the sleek box that it was in. If you are giving these as a gift, they will be impressed right from the get-go. The box included the headphones, the MusicShare cable, a cleaning cloth and a storage bag.
Pros:
- High-quality sound and performance
- Lots of colors to choose from to best suit each individual’s style
- Engineered to be super tough and designed for durability
- Very comfortable to wear
Cons
- Because these are high-performance headphones, the price is also a little bit higher than what I typically would spend on a set of headphones
- I had a hard time finding information on the website about the In-Line Controls that are talked about. My model seems to only have one button and on the website it talks about a center button as well as a + and – button
N-Tune collections are currently available at monsterproducts.com for $99.95, Office Depot stores around the world, as well as at select retailers including Wal-Mart, amazon.com for $69.99, Fry’s Electronics and Kohl’s.
Ready to purchase? Kellogg’s has teamed up with Monster and is offering a $10 Off code for N-Tune Headphones. To get your code, you can purchase your favorite Kellogg’s Snacks at a store near you. You can redeem your code on Monster’s website. As you can see, one of my boys’ favorite Kellogg’s snacks are Rice Krispy Treats. Yum! Yum! Have you ever dipped them in chocolate and put sprinkles on them? Even better!
A Mom’s Perspective
While the price tag is higher than what I normally spend on headphones ($99.95 on Monster’s website), I like that they boast N-Credible Durability. With three rambunctious boys, I’m sure there will be arguing over who gets to use them at some point.
I have confidence that The Monster N-Tune Headphones will last longer than most of the headphones that we have purchased in the past. And, since the quality of the sound is better than your lower end models, I enjoy using them as well. The Monster N-Tune Headphones are much more comfortable than the ear buds that I have used.
*I was given a Monster N-Tune On-Ear Headphones for my honest review of the product. All opinions are my own.
The sound coming from these headphones is impressive. The bass comes out loud and clear, not overpowering other layers of the music but instead serving as the musical punctuation it’s designed to be. Voices are clear and crisp, and the most subtle song intricacies aren’t missed. The headphones also are fantastic at reducing outside noise so you don’t need to turn the volume up as loud to block the outside world.
