Portable Speaker, Big Sound!
Nyne (pronounced like the number nine) has come out with a line of rugged portable speakers that won’t disappoint. The Rock portable speaker boasts 65 watts of power, 2 midrange speakers, 2 tweeters, AND a subwoofer. That is a lot of sound!
I have tested out this portable speaker in a variety of elements and locations including poolside parties, camping at the beach, and my least favorite, in my son’s bedroom! 🙂

Connecting to the Rock
Connecting your smartphone to the Rock portable speaker is a snap. You can connect via Bluetooth, NFC, or through an audio cable
When your friends call while you are in the pool – you can tell them to hurry up and join you – all without leaving the pool.
The speaker has a built-in lithium chargeable battery that lasts up to 12 hours, so you can take the Rock on the go.
It even comes with a 3.5mm audio cable and 4 interchangeable worldwide charging plugs.
Where We Took the Rock
I already mentioned that my son has tried to steal this speaker for his own room, but we have taken it with us and found many uses for it.
Not only did the Nyne Rock portable speaker hold up to sand and water at the beach, but it is a great speaker for yard work and poolside.
We used the Rock portable speaker at sports practices and found it handy for tailgating. In each of the locations, we had great sound.
The Rock speaker even has a built-in handle for easy carrying and weighs in at just over 12 lbs. We don’t have to worry if the speaker takes a tumble or gets wet.
I even connected my Rock to the TV for a boost to my surround sound!

A Mom’s Perspective
Our family uses this portable speaker on a daily basis. Although the Rock is a little bigger than some of the more compact portable speakers (12 lbs.) on the market, the sound is worth it.
The Rock speaker is still easy enough to take on trips and load in the car. The only snafu I had with the speaker was when I was on the phone with the eye doctor.
While making an appointment inside the house, one of my children turned on the speaker outside. My phone automatically connected and it took me a while to figure out why she couldn’t hear me.
Once I realized that was a problem, I simply did not store the speaker as a Bluetooth trusted device. This truly is a durable speaker with great sound and worth the price.
