The Nooie 360 Cam 2 is a smart home security camera that can rotate 360 degrees and be used remotely to keep an eye on your house…and your cat!
Outside video cameras to watch for packages and visitors are widespread. Now, video cameras in the home are increasing in popularity due to the need for increased security, watching over kids at home while parents are at work, and watching over our beloved pets.
Moreover, with advancements in technology, these cameras have become more user-friendly and feature-rich, making them an ideal choice for busy parents who want to stay connected with their home and loved ones.
We have been testing the Nooie Pet Feeder and thought it would be fun to use the Nooie 360 Cam 2 camera to watch our cats in action.
We thought our cats slept through the day but found they have spurts where they play around and chase each other around.
The Family Room
Before putting the camera into our cat room, we used it in our family room.
I set it to track motion and found it would follow me from one end of the room to the other, even when I tried crawling on the floor.
But when I left the room, I could watch our cats play on the Nooie app and move the camera down remotely to the floor to see their antics.
When I spoke to the cats through the app, they stopped and looked around. It was fun to see them wonder where I was.
The App
The Nooie app is really helpful with a lot of great features. I can use the same app to check feedings in my Nooie Cat Feeder as well.
I share access to the Nooie app with my son so he can keep an eye on the cats during school. Yes, he’s our #1 cat lover.
The app allows you to see what your camera sees and manually pan left, right, up, and down.
You can use the microphone to talk to anyone in the room, you can hear voices, noises, and meows as well.
I love that we can take pictures and live videos too – straight from the app.
No detected movement video snippets are sent to you unless you subscribe to the Nooie cloud. But you do receive notifications when the camera detects movements or sounds.
I have several Google video displays throughout the house, and Nooie connects with them so I can ask Google Assistant to show me the Nooie Cam 2 view. The app also connects with Alexa.
The Cat Room
We really got the Nooie 360 Cam 2 to watch the cats play, so we moved it to the room with our cats’ pet feeder and litterbox.
We love tuning into the app to watch our cats at 9 am and 7 pm each day as our Nooie automatic pet feeder releases food at these times.
Our cats are generally hanging out by the feeder at least 15 minutes early if not 30 minutes before feeding time.
Our fatter cat usually pushed out the thinner one by putting his whole face in the bowl!
This is my son’s room. You can see our smaller cat on his bed watching the Nooie Cam 2.
Not only is our cat cam helpful during the day but now we can finally watch them while we are traveling.
I cannot tell you how many times one of my kids pulls up old pictures of our cats during our trip just because they miss them.
We always ask our housesitters to send pics, but they can never send enough pics soon enough.
Now, any of us can open up the Nooie app and watch and even talk to our cats.
And, because we also have the Nooie Pet Feeder, we can even talk to the pets and release a serving of food at the same time!
We have loved automating our cat care and communication!
Ways to Use the Nooie 360 Cam 2
Although we are using the Nooie 360 Cam 2 as a cat camera to watch our crazy cats’ antics, here are other ways you can use it:
- Pet monitoring – keep an eye on all your pets and talk to them while you’re away. Watch your pets live!
- Baby monitoring – watch your baby sleep peacefully or soothe him/her when s/he awakes. I loved using my baby monitor when my kids were small. I could keep an eye on my baby without opening the door and waking them.
- Senior care – with permission, it might be good to place the camera in the main hallway or in the kitchen so you can ensure your elderly parent(s) is OK while still maintaining most of his/her/their privacy.
- Vacation monitoring – watch your home away from home to check on notifications if there’s any motion or sound detected. A camera gives you peace of mind.
- Business monitoring – a great inexpensive way to monitor the premises when away from your small business. Outside lights and having a camera help deter would-be thieves.
