Sony’s New Handheld PS Vita Arrives!

by Lori Cunningham

There’s a new handheld gaming system in town called the PS Vita.  The PS stands for PlayStation and the PS Vita upholds the HD like graphics quality and immerse gameplay of its bigger counterpart, the PlayStation 3.  I first held a PS Vita in my hands when I visited the PlayStation headquarters back in November.  As PlayStation Ambassadors, several bloggers were invited up to learn more about what PlayStation has in store for its fans.

Yesterday, MomsLA, a popular bloggers group in Los Angeles (and the three co-founders are all partners in crime with me as PlayStation Ambassadors), hosted a PS Vita party at the hip…and temporary…Vita Hill Social Club in Santa Monica.  The Vita Social Club opened just in December and will stay open for just a little longer during the national launch of the PS Vita on Weds., February 22nd.  The Vita Social Club is free to the public and houses scores of PS Vita’s to play with and try different games.  The Club offers comfy leather seating, a cool vibe, and free snacks!

Here are some pictures of the scene from our MomsLA closed party event:

This  is what the Vita Social Vita Hill Club looks like from the street.  I would guess that most people walking by don’t even know that it’s open to the public.

Fellow PlayStation Ambassadors and the three founders of MomsLA – Sarah Auerswald, Elise Crane Derby, and Yvonne Condes and me.

I loved all the comfortable seating and accents.  Each sofa and coffee table throughout the club has about 4 PS Vitas to try different games.  The kids had a great time.

Boxes of Pizza were piled up compliments of Fresh Brothers Pizza to nourish us while we focused on our game.  The bundt cake bites from Nothing Bundt Cakes were superb — so moist!

Every couch was filled with bloggers and bloggers-to-be’s.  Love this green leather couch!

These kids are enthralled with the new Ben 10 Galactic Racing game, based on the Ben 10 TV series on Cartoon Nation.  You can actually use the PS Vita as a steering wheel to steer your car.

Ahh, there’s nothing like kicking back in a nice leather chair with a leopard “skin” rug and playing your PS Vita during your time off.
