Earlier this month we covered Fast Food Apps that Make Things Handy. If you have certain fast food restaurants you frequent, using their app can make things easier for you.
For example, my kids LOVE Chick-Fil-A. By placing our order in their app on the car ride over, our food takes little time to be prepared, despite how long the line is.
In this article, we’ll cover some of the top drink and dessert apps. We chose six of them, but there are more, just search for your favorite in the Google Play or Apple App Store.
Drink and Dessert Apps
Starbucks
- See menu
- Order for pickup
- Ability to save favorite orders
- See nutrition – Starbucks does not post allergen info.
- Starbucks Rewards program
- History of purchases using app
- Find locations with driving directions
- Add funds to app for easy ordering
- Starbucks Spotify playlists
Adding money to your Starbucks is very easy. Choose from your credit card, PayPal, or Google Pay.
I was using the app to pay for my daughter’s and my drinks when I found out I was $.60 short and I left my purse in the car. It took me less time to transfer money from PayPal (25 seconds) then it would have been to go out to the car.
If you like their music, you can take their playlists with you on the road through Spotify.
Dunkin
- See menu
- Order for pickup
- Nutrition info. available via pdf download
- Rewards program
- Special offers
- Purchase history
- Add value to and manage gift cards
- Pay easily with Dunkin gift cards
- Find locations with driving directions
The Dunkin app helps you track your gift cards, order donuts and drinks, and find the nearest Dunkin location. If you are a T-Mobile customer, a $2 Dunkin gift card is often awarded to their customers through its T-Mobile Tuesday app.
I have collected a sizable amount of funds at Dunkin as a result. Though there isn’t a Dunkin near me, I love to frequent Dunking when traveling.
Baskin Robbins
- Flavor of the Month announcement
- Special coupons, offers, and events
- Birthday club signup for you and family members
- See allergens, ingredients, nutrition
- Pay easily with Baskin Robbins gift cards
- Find locations with driving directions
- No ordering for pickup
Now you can know the Baskin Robbins flavor of the month BEFORE going into the store! Sign up the fam for the Birthday Club too to receive free ice cream on everyone’s birthday.
Cold Stone Creamery
There is no general app for Cold Stone Creamery, only their new Cold Stone Cakes Ordering app for ordering ice cream cakes, cupcakes, and cookies.
Dairy Queen
- See menu (under Order)
- Order for pickup at select stores
- Rewards program
- Purchase history
- Find locations with driving directions
- Add funds to app for easy ordering
Dairy Queen was my favorite dessert as a kid. To this day I still love their butterscotch dipped vanilla cones, though it’s hard to find a DQ that still serves them. Unfortunately, the app does not help me find the stores that have it nor can you see the full menu unless you order.
And even then, if there are no stores around you that allow ordering, you can’t see the menu. At this point, I would not recommend downloading the Dairy Queen app.
Yogurtland
- Featured flavor
- Find This Flavor option to see which stores might have a flavor available
- Real Rewards program
- See allergens, ingredients, nutrition
- Pay easily with Yogurtland gift cards
- Find locations with driving directions
- No ordering for pickup
I only use the app for the Real Rewards program, it’s a handy way to track and see how many points we are away from the next level.
If you like to frequent Baskin Robbins, Yogurtland, Dunkin Donuts, or Starbucks, these drink and desserts apps bring enough value that merits downloading their apps (especially for their rewards programs).
Wait on the others until they more fully develop their apps.
