The MXL Trio USB microphone is a fun tool to enhance your voice when speaking into your iPad or PC.  I used the MXL Trio USB microphone to sing into a song my daughter and I created with Garage Band.  It sounded SO much better using the microphone than using the one built into the iPad and it was a lot more fun.  My daughter and I felt that we were like stars singing into the mic, which boosted our confidence.

I also used the MXL Trio USB microphone for voiceovers in the picture slideshows I like to make using Wondershare’s DVD Slideshow Maker.  When I had my daughter do voice overs in the past, she spoke into my PC Cam for the microphone, but it sounded canny.  The MXL Trio USB microphone works great with the software and the voiceovers sound so much better.

The last thing I used the MXL USB microphone for is Skype.  Skype now has a video message feature where you can leave a video message for a Skype friend who is not online or doesn’t answer your Skype call.  It’s a lot of fun and your recipient sees the message the next time they get back onto Skype.  It is fun leaving these messages for family members and friends using the microphone.  My kids eat it up, it’s a fun tool…toy for them.

Granted, a table top microphone is not something you’d use everyday, but dependent upon your hobbies and the interests of your kids, it can be a great learning tool.
