If you’ve tried Netflix before, you’re familiar with the Netflix queue. The Netflix queue is the list of movies you’ve come across over time that you’d like to save as a bookmark to watch at a later time. My Netflix queue list is at least a list of 50 movies long at any given time.
I typically save movies just for my husband and I to watch in our queue…and only sometimes for the kids. You see, Netflix now has a profile option where each member of the family can have their own profile…along with their own Netflix queue list.
So my daughter has one set up with all of the movies/shows she’s interested in too. It’s perfect, so my que isn’t inundated with kids films…and she doesn’t have her Netflix que bloated with parents’ movies that are PG+13 and R. It’s a win-win. And yes, I classified her profile is as a child, under the age of 12.
So if my daughter tries to stream a PG+13 or R movie, she receives this error sign. It’s kinda nice because it doesn’t say she’s restricted because of her age, it just says there was an error processing her request.
My husband and I like to watch movies in our downtime, though we are not ones to get to the theater much. It’s too much of a hassle to find a babysitter, payout the $25 plus dinner…plus the $30 for the babysitter.
We are in no hurry to be one of the first to see a movie and instead, much prefer to watch our movies more leisurely at home. We have no qualms seeing a movie years later. That’s why we like Netflix so much. We still get to see some of the latest movies (of the past 3 years – like Mona Lisa Smile) on our time schedule.
Curious to see what’s in our Netflix queue right now?
Here’s the top 22 movies in my queue.
And here’s the list for my kids…all PG and G movies…..
I will admit that I created this list, as I wanted to expand my daughter’s horizon a bit on movies she may not pick on her own. Honestly, in the five months since I set up her profile, she hadn’t discovered the Netflix queue list, so I was excited to set her up with these goodies.
This is the screen my daughter typically chooses movies from for her and her brother….
As you can see from my queue up above, Fireproof is next on my list for my husband and I to see. I’ve heard a lot of good things about it.
It’s about a dedicated firefighter whose marriage is about to end until his Christian dad intervenes, and the story ends differently than most sinking marriage stories end. I’m looking forward to it.
What’s in your Netflix queue?
