{"id":10283,"date":"2013-05-13T20:00:05","date_gmt":"2013-05-13T13:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/?p=10283"},"modified":"2013-05-08T01:12:52","modified_gmt":"2013-05-07T18:12:52","slug":"a-new-playstation-is-coming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/a-new-playstation-is-coming\/","title":{"rendered":"A New PlayStation is Coming!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #888888;\">\u00a0by Lori Cunningham<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-10284\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2013\/04\/8493772378_f2f6f023f4.111743.jpg?resize=410%2C273&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"410\" height=\"273\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2013\/04\/8493772378_f2f6f023f4.111743.jpg?w=410&amp;ssl=1 410w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2013\/04\/8493772378_f2f6f023f4.111743.jpg?resize=300%2C199&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 410px) 100vw, 410px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As many of you know, the WellConnectedMom is an ambassador for the PlayStation Family. \u00a0We have enjoyed this relationship now for nearly 1 1\/2 years. \u00a0Before the ambassadorship, \u00a0I hadn&#8217;t had much exposure to the PlayStation system. \u00a0I knew that it was the ultimate gaming console for teens and hardcore gamers, but that was about it.<\/p>\n<p>During our first PlayStation Family trip to the <a href=\"https:\/\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/2011\/11\/27\/visit-to-playstation-headquarters\/\">PlayStation Headquarter<\/a>s in Foster City, CA, we learned more about how the PlayStation 3 was way ahead of their time in not only\u00a0incorporating\u00a0a built-in Blue-ray player in their console, but in providing realistic graphics, online gameplay, and eventually access to online media entertainment such as music and movies. \u00a0I learned <a href=\"https:\/\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/2011\/12\/14\/why-a-playstation-3\/\" target=\"_blank\">Why A PlayStation 3<\/a>\u00a0is a good investment and how Sony is committed to creating more family-based games.<\/p>\n<p>On this trip, I also learned about the new\u00a0handheld\u00a0gaming console, the <a href=\"https:\/\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/2012\/04\/11\/first-impressions-of-the-ps-vita\/\" target=\"_blank\">PS Vita<\/a>. \u00a0The graphics are amazing and the amount of control you have in\u00a0maneuvering\u00a0your player is so precise. \u00a0Though the PS Vita tends to lean towards an older audience, my kids and I have played a number of games geared towards kids that are quite captivating. \u00a0Our favorite one being <a href=\"https:\/\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/2012\/09\/19\/sound-shapes-a-must-have-game-for-the-ps-vita-ps3\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sound Shapes<\/a>, a game where you create beautiful music as your ball rolls through various obstacles.<\/p>\n<p>Well, now in 2013, the Sony PlayStation is trailblazing a new path again for gaming consoles. \u00a0The rumors on the Internet are true, PlayStation is coming out with the PlayStation 4 or PS4 this Christmas season! \u00a0Although there is not a lot known yet about the PS4, I do know that it will incorporate:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>powerful graphics<\/li>\n<li>incredible speed<\/li>\n<li>intelligent personalization<\/li>\n<li>fun exciting ways to share your gameplay with friends through social integration<\/li>\n<li>unique second screen opportunities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The PS4 is promised to be an exciting new highly integrated way of playing video games with \u00a0rich immersive interaction. \u00a0You&#8217;ll be able to instantly share images and video of your favorite gaming moments on Facebook, even real-time streaming through Ustream, encouraging feedback or even the option for friends to play along with you. \u00a0For today&#8217;s social media interactive\u00a0society, this is the console that brings it all together.<\/p>\n<p>I am happy to report that they PS Vita is a strategic partner with the PS4 allowing you to continue your PS4 game on your PS Vita on the go using Wi-Fi. \u00a0It is Sony&#8217;s plan to ensure that all PS4 games are playable on the PS Vita over time. \u00a0Interestingly enough, Sony will extend the capabilities of a game via the &#8220;PlayStation App,&#8221; for the iPhone, iPad, and Android, that offers a &#8220;second screen,&#8221; to give a player viewing maps or even playing\u00a0friends\u00a0in a battle, right from their smartphone or tablet!<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, that&#8217;s about all I can tell you at this point. \u00a0There were a number of \u00a0new video games Sony demo&#8217;d during their PS4 initial media announcement and in addition to giving some of the details of the PS4. \u00a0Be sure to check out the 2 hour <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.us.playstation.com\/2013\/02\/20\/today-watch-playstation-meeting-2013-live-at-6pm-eastern-time\/\" target=\"_blank\">PS4 Announcement<\/a> if you or one of your kids are dying to know more about the future of gaming.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Playstation has announced that will be introducing a new Playstation 4 this year, near Christmas time.
