Last month while traveling to San Jose, I had the opportunity to visit Netflix <\/a>headquarters for a tour and update on all things Netflix. \u00a0As a member of the Netflix Stream Team, they invited any Stream Team bloggers who might be in the area while attending BlogHer<\/a>. \u00a0Netflix HQ, based in Los Gatos, has two\u00a0beautiful buildings and a fun working environment, pretty close to what you’d expect from a Silicon Valley tech company.<\/p>\n

Besides getting a pretty thorough tour of Netflix’ HQ buildings, a highlight of the trip was listening to and meeting Piper Kerman, author of the popular book, Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison<\/a>\"\"
\nand the basis upon which the ever popular Netflix show, Orange is the New Black show is\u00a0based upon. \u00a0Piper Kerman remains as a consultant to the show to help better depict prison life in a woman’s jail.<\/p>\n

Netflix HQ Presentation<\/span><\/h2>\n

Netflix is the most popular paid streaming service available with a wide variety of movies and show and priced at only $8\/mo. \u00a0Netflix is so versatile, it’s available on nearly any watchable device…TV’s, DVR’s, Tivo, Blu-ray players, tablets, phones, computers, they have all the basics covered.<\/p>\n

Netflix continues to aggressively grow their selection through new partnerships with production companies as well as expanding their own Netflix-created shows. \u00a0After the Netflix HQ tour, we had a number of executives talk to us about Netflix programming. \u00a0I was impressed to see how they use the data of shows viewed from their subscribers to build their collection further based on interests. \u00a0Netflix is interested in all members of the family and continuously seek programming deals to suit their audiences. \u00a0They look at their streaming portfolio in different ways…<\/p>\n

Netflix HQ Tour<\/span><\/h2>\n

It took us quite a bit of time to tour both of Netflix’ HQ buildings, so I had a lot of video footage. \u00a0I didn’t want you to miss anything, so I sped up the video to show you everything. \u00a0As we walk though the building, notice the fun things around the office that makes Netflix a fun environment to work in.
