needs, Moms with Apps conducted an online <a href=\"https:\/\/momswithapps.com\/survey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">survey<\/a> to get parents thoughts about children&#8217;s&#8217; apps. \u00a0Over 450 parents responded to the survey across the country. \u00a0Here&#8217;s what they found.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Moms with Apps Survey Finds<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-14618\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2014\/11\/Moms-with-Apps-Quote-1.jpg?resize=593%2C137&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Moms with Apps Quote #1\" width=\"593\" height=\"137\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2014\/11\/Moms-with-Apps-Quote-1.jpg?w=770&amp;ssl=1 770w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2014\/11\/Moms-with-Apps-Quote-1.jpg?resize=300%2C69&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 593px) 100vw, 593px\" \/><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>No surprise here, parents see how valuable apps can be to help their child&#8217;s education. \u00a0I often turn to apps to find ones that help my daughter learn our states and capitals, my son learn his multiplications, and even ones that help my kids increase their decision making abilities. \u00a0Moms with Apps is a directory of apps that parents can use to find trustworthy apps in multiple educational areas such as reading, math, science, and critical thinking.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2014\/11\/Moms-with-Apps-Quote-2.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-14616\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2014\/11\/Moms-with-Apps-Quote-3.jpg?resize=603%2C211&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Moms with Apps Quote #3\" width=\"603\" height=\"211\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2014\/11\/Moms-with-Apps-Quote-3.jpg?w=893&amp;ssl=1 893w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2014\/11\/Moms-with-Apps-Quote-3.jpg?resize=300%2C104&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 603px) 100vw, 603px\" \/><\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>These are three valid concerns. \u00a0Just because an app is popular with your child&#8217;s friends, doesn&#8217;t mean that the app is appropriate for kids. \u00a0As an adult, it&#8217;s hard to know which apps are valuable&#8230;without trying each one first. \u00a0Popularity ratings in apps stores help decipher is an app is engaging, but it doesn&#8217;t necessarily mean that the app is safe for children. \u00a0App developers are supposed to comply to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coppa.org\/coppa.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">COPPA <\/a>standards for kids apps, but if kids are using an app that is enjoyable by both adults and kids, it will have a higher age range to include adults and it will not need to follow COPPA standards.<\/p>\n<p>Moms with Apps understands these concerns, as the founders are parents themselves. \u00a0Moms with Apps features only app developers who are committed to protecting kids&#8217; the game on Facebook, fill out a quick survey, or download other apps. \u00a0I&#8217;ve seen it with my own kids. \u00a0They know they shouldn&#8217;t do these things, but the temptation is so strong to get &#8220;free&#8221;
