Fortunately, it’s been a long time since I’ve had any type of hard drive failure, but I have lost documents due to corruption or viruses. I have purchased external drives in the past, ones that promise to back-up my computer, but I never receive any kind of confirmation that they are being backed up regularly. \u00a0And what happens in a fire? \u00a0I’ll lose my PC and my external hard drive.<\/p>\n

I have had a number of friends recommend I back-up my computer with an online back-up storage solution. \u00a0It has taken my probably 4 years to finally consider this option seriously. \u00a0Mainly for two reasons:<\/p>\n

1. \u00a0I didn’t want to pay yet another monthly bill and<\/p>\n

2. There are a number of options, which online back-up company would I choose?<\/p>\n

Realizing that I’m not the only who doesn’t back-up my computer and has questions, I set out to explore which company would offer the best back-up security at a price that is manageable.<\/p>\n

While at BlogHer ’13<\/a>, I had the opportunity to talk with several online \u00a0back-up companies, one of which, Backblaze<\/a>, which was on the top of my list. \u00a0I was very impressed with Backblaze and they offered me a one year trial.<\/p>\n

Back-up My Computer with Backblaze<\/span><\/h2>\n

I started the Backblaze trial in January of 2014 and the trial just ended. \u00a0I received an email each month stating that my computer had been backed up and they told me how many gigabytes had been backed up. \u00a0Just getting this verification made me feel confident that things were being backed up. \u00a0I never got any kind of verification like this from my back-up external drives in the past.<\/p>\n
