Easter is right around the corner! \u00a0April 5th. \u00a0It seems like just yesterday we were setting up our New Year’s resolutions…time sure moves quickly. \u00a0Easter, like Christmas, celebrates a poignant time in history. \u00a0It is the most important celebration of Christian history with Jesus\u00a0becoming the ransom for many through His death on the cross.<\/p>\n

But Easter also has an alter ego. \u00a0Some families celebrate only the Easter eggs and Easter Bunny. \u00a0Many families celebrate both. \u00a0Regardless of how you celebrate Easter, you can make Easter a time to talk about values important to your family. Yes, it is a time of receiving, but Easter\u00a0a good time to talk to\u00a0your children about the\u00a0rewards in giving to\u00a0others.<\/p>\n

‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE EASTER<\/span><\/h2>\n

The fun animated VeggieTales helps you have this type of discussion with your kids\u00a0in\u00a0their movie, ‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE EASTER. \u00a0‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE EASTER is an engaging, upbeat story that combines fun musical numbers along with positive messages and Christian values. \u00a0It focuses on a cable news reporter, Marlee Meade, who is hunting for a way to help others, rather than the actual story of Easter and the cross.<\/p>\n

Marlee Meade decides to help save an old theater by producing an over-the-top pageant but cannot find the perfect star of the show, until she hears about Cassie Cassava, who is arriving to town to perform in her hometown church’s Easter Service. \u00a0Marlee plots to persuade Cassava\u00a0to star in the finale of\u00a0her performance the night before Easter, hoping sway the\u00a0church’s attendees to her show too.\u00a0 Things don’t work out as she planned, but Marlee\u00a0realizes what the true meaning of Easter and what helping others is truly all about.<\/p>\n

‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE EASTER provides families a great foundation on which to talk about helping others as well as how different families celebrate Easter. \u00a0It’s a thought-provoking 45 minute movie to watch to gear\u00a0up to Easter.<\/p>\n

VUDU Movie Service<\/span><\/h2>\n

We are a big fan of Walmart’s VUDU<\/a>, an online streaming movie service and vault to keep all of your purchased digital movies. \u00a0When I purchased\u00a0‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE EASTER at my local Walmart, I saw that on the front was a coupon for a free digital copy of another VeggieTales DVD. \u00a0Going to the VUDU promotional link, you can receive free one of these three VeggieTale choices…<\/p>\n

I chose the League of Incredible Vegetables<\/a>, (a $9.61 value) as I thought my 9-year-old son would really enjoy it. \u00a0I also plan on taking our\u00a0\u00a0‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE EASTER DVD to Walmart’s Photo processing department\u00a0and have them digitize my Easter DVD\u00a0so my\u00a0kids can watch it from any of our tablets or PC’s. \u00a0It costs only $2 for a SD version or $5 for a HD one. \u00a0Learn more in our article about how to Digitize Your DVD library<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I typically take 5-10 DVD’s into Walmart at a time to digitize them so my kids can see their favorite movies at home, while on vacation…or even at Grandma’s house. \u00a0I also like how we can easily access VUDU from Tivo or from our Smart TV and we don’t have to get up from\u00a0the couch to go put a DVD into our Xbox or Blu-ray player!<\/p>\n

Holidays are a lot of fun for kids. \u00a0They anxiously look forward to them every year. \u00a0They can’t wait to see what they’ll find in their Easter baskets. \u00a0Take the time this Easter to cover with your child the deeper meaning of Easter. \u00a0For some families this means talking about Jesus’ sacrifice and why it’s important. \u00a0For others, Easter may mean love for family or reaching out to others. \u00a0Make Easter a teachable holiday, it’s a great annual event to help you reinforce values and traditions in your family that go deeper than Easter baskets and the Easter Bunny.<\/p>\n
