Editors Note:\u00a0 Big thanks T-Mobile for lending me the new Galaxy Tab tablet to use during the show.\u00a0 With the numerous\u00a0appointments I needed to keep, it was great having a large\u00a0screen\u00a0to keep them straight.\u00a0 I also used to take video, pictures, look up websites, tweet, watch YouTube to learn how to build a computer (more on that later), and read and write my e-mail’s.<\/span><\/address>\n

\u00a0<\/span>I can’t believe the Consumer Electronics Show just happened this past week!\u00a0 This is my ultimate\u00a0favorite tradeshow to go to – it’s the end all for every geek — worldwide.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0It was my intention to post the latest news and show the fun from the showroom floor everyday.\u00a0 But the reality is that unless I wrote my updates at 12am in the morning, there’s just not time!\u00a0\u00a0This year I thought\u00a0I would share with you some of the press meetings, press parties, and sights of CES to give you an idea how fun and exciting a geekfest like CES really is!\u00a0<\/p>\n

I spent 6 pack-filled nights in Vegas, 2 days of press meetings then 4 days of the CES showfloor and more press meetings.\u00a0 This first post will give you an inkling\u00a0from a few of the 15+ press meetings I covered.<\/div>\n

CEA gave an overview of the consumer electronics industry to a press-filled room<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

\u00a0As I post articles about CES,\u00a0I will be reporting on some of the innovative products for moms and families rather than\u00a0detailed descriptions of products introduced during the show.<\/p>\n

<—The\u00a0first press meeting of the show is shown\u00a0to the left.\u00a0 The CEA, Consumer Electronics Association who puts on\u00a0CES gave reporters an overview of\u00a0the trends, stats, and antidotes of what occurred\u00a0in 2010 and what is about to change in 2011.\u00a0 In a later post I will write about the top trends I foresee occurring in 2011.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Monster press meetings at CES are always high energy, they make me feel as though I’m in a hyped up sales meeting.\u00a0 The animated leader, Noal Lee, made his usual appearance on a Segway, which he balances on during the entire meeting.\u00a0\u00a0 —-><\/p>\n

<—\u00a0 CES Press meetings are great because the top executives make their appearances to make the latest announcements and product introductions.\u00a0 Afterwards,\u00a0 members of the press have the opportunity to talk to executives to ask further detailed questions.\u00a0 Here, Sharp <\/a>is announcing their new media tablet called Galapagos.<\/p>\n

Companies, like Panasonic<\/a>, add a lot of flash, music, video, and slides to enhance the excitement of their product launches and incite reporters to highlight their products in their publications…online and offline.\u00a0 —><\/p>\n

Verizon iPhone 4G<\/span><\/h2>\n

There was a lot of buzz during the Verizon Press Event….would they announce that the iPhone4\u00a0would be available on their network?\u00a0 After a lot of anticipation, the iPhone 4 was not even mentioned.\u00a0 To my surprise, none of the members of the press asked this question either, although all of us were dying to know if and when\u00a0it would occur.\u00a0 I suppose they decided to hold off on their iPhone announcement\u00a0so their other new products, like the Galaxy Tab 4G, and other LTE\u00a0phones could have their own place in the mainstream media.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, I’m happy to announce that as of this morning, Verizon <\/a>did make the announcement that the iPhone 4G phones will be available on the Verizon network, beginning February 10th.\u00a0 Current Verizon customer can pre-order their iPhone 4G phones now to avoid the probably sellouts.\u00a0 The iPhone 4G 16 GB phone will sell for $199 and the 32 GB phone will sell for $299.<\/p>\n
