Our family likes having sound in the background when we are in the house. A lot of times I catch my boys turning on the TV and not even really watching it. They just want the noise. <\/span><\/p>\n

We are a musical family and love listening to music but sometimes it is just simpler to turn on the TV for noise. We recently were introduced to the Phorus PS5 Speaker<\/a> and listening to music just got even easier than turning on the TV.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Phorus PS5 Speaker allows you to stream music from basically any smartphone, tablet, or computer, using DTS Play-Fi<\/a>, Bluetooth, or Apple Airplay. From the free Phorus app (Android, Kindle Fire<\/a>, iOS<\/a>, Windows PC<\/a>) you can play music from your library, Spotify, Pandora, Rdio, Rhapsody, SiriusXM, DLNA Servers, AM\/FM\/Internet Radio, Podcasts, and more. <\/span><\/p>\n

The PS5 Speaker offers amazing wireless streaming and performance thanks to its versatile dual band 802.11abgn WiFi signal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Phorus PS5 Set-up<\/span><\/h2>\n

Set-up is quite simple. You basically plug in the speaker, turn on the power to enter set up mode and then use the Phorus app to complete set up. Simply choose the speaker that you want to use (the app supports having multiple speakers in the home) and select which platform you want to use from the choices that it gives you. Our family tends to stick to Pandora and iTunes.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can use the Phorus SP5 speaker via Bluetooth and Apple\u2019s AirPlay rather than using the Phorus app. Getting connected to both of these applications is just as easy as the initial set-up of the speaker. The benefit of Bluetooth and AirPlay is that any sound you would get from <\/span>your smartphone or tablet streams to the speaker.<\/p>\n

If you want to listen to a specific song via YouTube, Bluetooth or AirPlay would be the way to go. We also had to chuckle when we realized we could hear the typing noises from the keypad and my son\u2019s HayDay game sounds. In general, we found that using the Phorus app was the most convenient and made the most sense.<\/p>\n

Multiple devices can run the Phorus App. If someone is already connected to the speaker, and you use it, it will tell you that the primary speaker was taken over by another user. You can also control the volume level from any device that is connected to the speaker.<\/span><\/p>\n

The music streams as pure loss-less audio for uncompromising quality. Custom acoustic design with DTS Sound gives you rich, clean audio at every volume level. Especially in the morning when we are getting ready to head out for the day, we crank up the volume and enjoy listening to our favorite Christian artists on Pandora. <\/span><\/p>\n

I have been extremely impressed by how well the sound fills not only the room that the speaker is in but throughout the entire house.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Phorus PS5 speaker also has multi-room wireless technology that allows you to add, link and control speakers in multiple rooms of your house using your Wi-Fi network. While we only have the one speaker, from what I have read, you can pick which speakers you want to control via the Phorus app. <\/span><\/p>\n

You can play the same music throughout the entire house so that when you move from room to room, the music is the same or, you can play different music on different speakers.<\/span><\/p>\n
