as she often does. Other topics she looked up:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"You've probably heard of Angry Birds, find out a little more about it!\" href=\"https:\/\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/2011\/02\/03\/the-birds-avian-violence-for-your-mobile\/\" target=\"_blank\">Angry Birds<\/a>\u00a0 (our current favorite game)<\/li>\n<li>New York City &#8211; we were going soon for Toy Fair week<\/li>\n<li>Her friends&#8217; names to find their meaning<\/li>\n<li>Disney<\/li>\n<li>Zhu\u00a0Zhu Pets<\/li>\n<li>911\/World Trade Center<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800080;\">A Mom&#8217;s Perspective<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1589\" href=\"https:\/\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/2010\/12\/25\/random-acts-of-zhu-giving-away-104-zhu-zhu-pets\/wellconnectedmom-logo-mom\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1589\" title=\"WellConnectedMom LOGO MOM\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2010\/12\/WellConnectedMom-LOGO-MOM.jpg?resize=160%2C261&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"160\" height=\"261\" \/><\/a>Anything that captures my daughter&#8217;s attention and educates her at the same time is a winner in my book.\u00a0 The fact that the WikiReader\u00a0is a single purpose device (as opposed to an iPod Touch) works well for our family because my daughter won&#8217;t be\u00a0distracted by Angry Birds or other fun games.\u00a0 We recently went to New York for the Toy Fair and the WikiReader was one of the few &#8220;toys&#8221; she packed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The WikiReader\u00a0is the new dictionary yet it encompasses\u00a0an expanse of knowledge and interactivity to satisfy\u00a0the most\u00a0curious reader.\u00a0 I also like the fact that\u00a0the latest update is available free from WikiReader\u00a0allowing you to download over 33,000 digital books from the Bible to Walden onto\u00a0a SD card into the Reader.\u00a0 Wow!\u00a0\u00a0 Now you can read a multitude of books without the need for an Internet connection or additional\u00a0cost.\u00a0 And the fact that\u00a0the WikiReader\u00a0offers parental controls gives me ease in knowing she won&#8217;t be\u00a0reading content not appropriate for children.<a rel=\"attachment wp-att-2165\" href=\"https:\/\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/2011\/02\/19\/wikireader-the-world-in-the-palm-of-your-hand\/octoberfest-320x240-400\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2165 alignright\" title=\"Octoberfest (320x240)-400\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2011\/02\/Octoberfest-320x240-400.jpg?resize=268%2C193&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"268\" height=\"193\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Of course, the WikiReader\u00a0isn&#8217;t just for kids.\u00a0 Its a\u00a0great resource for trivia buffs, on family vacations, when gardening, on fishing\/camping trips, and places where an Internet connection is not possible.\u00a0 The WikiReader retails for $99 online\u00a0with free shipping.\u00a0 It is my hope that as manufacturing costs comes down, the WikiReader will retail for a more affordable price.<\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0Openmoko\u00a0\u00a0provided me with the WikiReader in exchange for my honest opinion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The WikiReader is a great little single purpose device that allows you to explore the entire widipedia&#8230;without Internet access.
