YouTube is a great place to find DIY projects videos to help you build just about anything. They key is to be specific in your search. I found searching for “DIY how to _______,” fill in the blank with whatever what I’m interested and it pulls up a lot of videos. <\/p>\n
Find anything from how to stain<\/a>, to building a workbench <\/a>to fixing a leaky toilet<\/a> to building a birdhouse,<\/a> to making a toy chest <\/a>for your kid’s room.<\/p>\n The DIY projects are only limited by your imagination! Best yet, you can download the YouTube app<\/a> onto your phone or tablet for how-to instructions right where you need them.<\/p>\n And, here’s a trick you may not know of.<\/strong> If you see some projects you really want to try but don’t have time for right now, near the thumbs up and thumbs down area to rate a video, you’ll see a plus sign with three and a half small horizontal lines next to it. Click on this and you can create a new “playlist<\/strong>.” <\/p>\n Create one called DIY Wood or DIY Kids Projects, DIY How to Use Tools, whatever you’d like, you can create tons of playlists. Then save videos to these playlists so you can find your saved future projects more easily.<\/p>\n I also use playlists on YouTube for my favorite music videos and karaoke songs, so there are lots of uses for playlists.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/p>\n A number of DIY projects videos and blogs include plans or a shopping list of supplies to buy before beginning your project. Make it easy on yourself and order everything online or through the Home Depot<\/a> or Lowes <\/a>app. You can have supplies delivered or order them ahead of time and easily pick them up in the store.<\/p>\n Don’t forget if you don’t want to cut wood yourself, you can purchase wood from these stores, give them the dimensions you need, and they will cut the wood for you for free.<\/p>\n The Home Depot and Lowes apps great for keeping track of things you need for your projects. You can bookmark items for future projects\/purchases, you can check inventory in your store (and others) before going to the store to purchase, and scan in all your receipts to make returns a lot easier. <\/p>\n The Home Depot app lists local DIY workshops as well as other useful apps to help with your projects.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n As you can see, there are a lot of resources out there to help you learn how to build and fix things and most resources are free. People love sharing how they build things with others. It helps other DIYers as well as gives them a chance to show off what they made.
