When my kids were 8 and 11, we bought them fun electric scooters.  They had a blast riding them on the street.  But in no time at all, the scooters were a bit small for them.  The handlebars weren’t designed to stretch and grow with their riders.<\/p>\n

Now my kids are teenagers and although those scooters were fun, they just aren’t tall enough or fast enough.<\/p>\n

While at CES, I looked at the Razor scooters and found one that can definitely “grow” with my kids.  It’s called the Razor E Prime Electric Scooter<\/a> and it’s a perfect scooter for teens and urban city commuters.<\/p>\n

Weighing in at 21 lbs., the Razor E Prime Electric Scooter houses an adjustable handlebar to accommodate various heights, so as my 5ft. 3 son grows to 6 ft, he can still ride it.  It even has a longer and wider riding board to accommodate larger-sized feet.<\/p>\n

With its dual braking system – one on the handlebar and one over the rear wheel, you can stop slowly and with ease. There is also an acceleration system to speed things up!<\/p>\n

My teens love that the Razor E Prime Electric Scooter can go up to 15 mph and handle turns well.  <\/p>\n

It also handles jumps from curbs well with its sturdy aluminum frame.  Although it’s designed for flat surfaces, we tested it out on some 30% incline hills and it did just fine, though it didn’t churn out 15 mph.<\/p>\n

In fact, the Razor E Prime Electric Scooter handles very well, providing a smooth ride.  I love that the 8″ wheels are airless – this means you never need to worry about a flat tire.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, without air in the tires and a suspension system, you can feel the cracks in sidewalks and potholes in the streets pretty strongly.  They are doable, just not desirable.<\/p>\n

It’s easy to see how much power you have.  When the blue lights go out and you’re down to only yellow and red, it’s time to start looking for a plug.<\/p>\n
