The Los Angeles County Fair is here! It’s a Fair of Family Fun with great eats, shopping (even car shopping!), sampling, rides, games, and more!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

For my family, a visit to the LA County Fair<\/a> is a yearly tradition we look forward to every year. <\/p>\n

We go to the fair for family fun which often incorporates a similar pattern.  Food, shopping, food, seeing the animals, food, admiring artwork submitted by kids, sometimes rides, and ah yes, eating.<\/p>\n

Yes, we love to eat, but no, we don’t get caught up in the obscure fried food frenzy.  This year, Chevrolet sponsored our visit, allowing us to arrive in style in a metallic blue 2019 Chevrolet Equinox.  <\/p>\n

My family was thrilled with the Equinox<\/a> and right away began customizing Sirius radio and seating settings to their liking.  Gone are the days where you can only set 6 “radio” presets.<\/p>\n

With the Equinox, we set up a ton of presets.  We have enough music variety for everyone.<\/p>\n

As we are accustomed to a bigger SUV car, we were surprised by the roominess of the backseat.  No complaints from our teenagers.  There were also plenty of cupholders, a must in any family.<\/p>\n

We were also very happy with the spaciousness of the almost 64 cu. ft. of cargo space at the back of the car. <\/p>\n

There is plenty of room for groceries, cargo, even lumber with the backseats folded down.<\/p>\n

But by far, my favorite feature is the surround car camera system that gives you a bird’s eye view of everything around your car. <\/p>\n

Parking in the tight spot in the parking lot…or your garage is so much easier!  Also very helpful when backing up, it literally gives you eyes behind your head!<\/p>\n

Our Adventures at the Fair for Family Fun<\/span><\/h2>\n

If you haven’t been to the LA County Fair<\/a>, you need to go.  It’s one of the largest in the country, in fact, it’s the 4th largest. <\/p>\n

Running since Labor Day weekend up to September 22nd, the LA County Fair is expected to receive in 1.5 million visitors this year.<\/p>\n

And let me tell you, it’s crowded!  But with over 540 acres, people tend to be spread out across its fairgrounds. <\/p>\n

We love to hit the 5 or 6 shopping buildings first.  These buildings are filled with vendors from mom and pop shops to air-condition and mattress companies…and it’s always cool in them.<\/p>\n

We hit these buildings first because with 100-degree Southern California weather, being outside is rough.<\/p>\n

We found a pink Chevy in one of the halls!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We love hitting the Vitamix booths – there are usually at least 2 of them scattered throughout the buildings.  We love the tortilla soup and green smoothies samples!<\/p>\n

And we have found a number of gadgets throught the years that we get hooked on from the product demonstrations, like the Vitamix. <\/p>\n

Fortunately, most of the items we have bought in the past work great at home.<\/p>\n

As the sun started setting, we headed outside.  We LOVE the fair at night.  It’s always cooler and the California sunsets are so beautiful. <\/p>\n

I always wonder who goes in to see the Giant Florida Gator, but enough must go in, they are at the fair every year!<\/p>\n

Food, of course, is one of our favorite traditions at the LA Fair.  We get these Tasti Chips every year…love them!<\/p>\n

We also love the BBQ, tacos, and don’t forget corn in a cup!<\/p>\n

After we have eaten, it’s time for the rides!  We actually went on the bigger 10+ lanes slide, but I wasn’t able to get a shot of our family racing down the slide to see who finished first. <\/p>\n

But I love this picture I took of the “kiddie” slide.  Notice how the girl in the yellow lane was airborne?  That’s exactly what happened to us on several of the bumps.  A fun ride, but it’s done way too fast.<\/p>\n

Another part of the fun of the fair is the concerts.  This year, Pitbull, MC Hammer, the O’Jays, and Chicago are playing.  Chevrolet is the big sponsor of the End of Summer Concert Series. <\/p>\n

We didn’t have time to catch a concert but would love to make it back for Chicago…I love their brass!<\/p>\n

As an added bonus, Chevrolet had around 10 cars available to check out during the fair.  Cars at the fair for family fun makes sense. <\/p>\n

What kid doesn’t like to climb behind the wheel of a new car?  We jumped in a Camaro, a Silverado truck, the Equinox, the Traverse (our favorite), and posed next to the suped up Corvette.  <\/p>\n

Our family had the opportunity to take the Chevrolet Traverse for a road trip last year in Colorado<\/a>.  We all fell in love with its features, space, fantastic tech, and numerous cup holders! <\/p>\n

In driving the Equinox this week, we found the Equinox<\/a> to be similar in features and comfort to the Traverse…just smaller.  Wewere quite surprised at the Equinox’ pick up.  It catches right away and accelerates fast. <\/p>\n

The Equinox also handles corners very well. <\/p>\n

My hat’s off to Chevrolet<\/a> for listening to their customers and equipping their cars with features today’s families are looking for.<\/p>\n
