I’m writing this post after seeing Lion King 3D for the third time in a month. \u00a0In my last two posts on Lion King, Lion King 3D Premiers at El Capitan Theater<\/a> and Disney’s Lion King 3D Premiere Mom Blogger Event<\/a>, I encouraged parents to take their children to see Lion King 3D, as the current generation has never had a chance to see Lion King in the movie theaters. \u00a0In the process of writing that sentiment, I realized my advice applied to our family as well.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, my husband, 5-year-old son, and 8-year-old daughter and I went to see Lion King 3D. \u00a0The kids were given fun-themed Lion King 3D glasses. \u00a0Man, I just love this movie. \u00a0Sharing a “piece” of what I experienced with the Disney mom blogger event with my family was very satisfying. \u00a0It was fun to hear my husband laugh heartily at the jokes in the movie and have my daughter cuddle close to me during the scary scenes. \u00a0Lion King is now one of my long-lasting movie favorites.<\/p>\n

Apparently, we’re not the only ones who hit the box office. \u00a0Disney Lion King 3D was the number one movie this past weekend, taking in $22.1 million. \u00a0It was number one at the box office the previous weekend too. \u00a0Perhaps Disney should reconsider its 2 week only d\u00e9but of the 3D version.<\/p>\n

Behind the Scenes<\/span><\/h2>\n

One of the coolest things we did at the Lion King 3D mom blogger event* (besides staying at the Beverly Regent Hotel, being driven in a Rolls Royce, meeting some GREAT mom bloggers, going to the Lion King 3D world premiere…and the accompanying after party), was the opportunity to talk to people who actually worked on the Lion King movie…17 years ago. \u00a0I was also excited to learn more about Second Screen, a free iPad app that accompanies\u00a0the movie and allows you to see extra pictures and read facts about the movie…while you’re watching the movie.<\/p>\n

Second Screen<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Let me start first with Disney’s Second Screen<\/a> iPad and PC app. \u00a0 Disney recognizes that their fans want more. \u00a0Fans love the movies and are \u00a0interested in learning more about how a movie was made, how characters were drawn, etc. \u00a0Second Screen allows fans to interact with the movie by syncing the Second Screen app to the Blue-Ray Disney movie.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Second Screen is in sync with the Lion King 3D movie, giving viewers a look behind the scenes.<\/p>\n
