Great Family Tech Products,&#8221; or &#8220;Cool Products.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But before I get into the details of the different tech products I saw (those will come in later posts), let me first give you an overview of\u00a0the top 6 technology trends for\u00a02010.\u00a0<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-480\" title=\"TOP TECH PRODUCT TRENDS\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/wp-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2010\/01\/TOP-TECH-PRODUCT-TRENDS-300x39.jpg?resize=300%2C39&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"39\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2010\/01\/TOP-TECH-PRODUCT-TRENDS.jpg?resize=300%2C39&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2010\/01\/TOP-TECH-PRODUCT-TRENDS.jpg?resize=1024%2C134&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2010\/01\/TOP-TECH-PRODUCT-TRENDS.jpg?w=1498&amp;ssl=1 1498w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/div>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><strong>3D TV<\/strong> &#8211; believe it or not, 3D is going mainstream and available in\u00a0most upper-end 2010 TV\u2019s from major companies\u00a0including Toshiba, Panasonic, LG, Sony, etc.\u00a0 Now, you can enjoy 3D quality movies at your home as well as the movie theater.\u00a0 Yes, you will still need to 3D glasses &#8211; but the home version ones are much cooler &#8211; though more pricey.\u00a0 Some 3D TV&#8217;s will even turn your home movies and regular DVD movies into 3D movies with their inherent\u00a0powerful processors.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Internet Enabled TV &#8211; <\/strong>many of the large TV companies have added widgets to their TV&#8217;s so consumers can keep up with some of their favorite Internet programs.\u00a0 Widgets vary per TV manufacturer but could include Picasa, YouTube, <a title=\"Pandora\" href=\"https:\/\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/2009\/10\/22\/personalized-radio-youre-the-dj-and-its-free\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pandora<\/a>, Twitter, Netflix, and many others.\u00a0 Several of the Internet enabled manufacturers, namely, LG, Panasonic, and Toshiba, touted the ability to use Skype directly from their TV.\u00a0 Now families can keep in contact with other family members easily using free Skype video conferencing.\u00a0 Unlike video phones of the past, the family member on the other side of the phone line does not need to have the same brand device.\u00a0 In fact, they can use Skype the traditional way, on their computer to keep in touch.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>eReaders<\/strong> -eReaders enable books to be read on a small device, typically 6-10 inches in screen size.\u00a0 Amazon&#8217;s long standing Kindle and Sony&#8217;s eReader have been the biggest player in the market.\u00a0 Now numerous eReaders are flooding the market from large to small manufacturers.\u00a0 eReaders&#8217; functionality is increasing too, some adding music and basic calendaring, while others adding eReaders to their nebook or tablet lines of\u00a0computer functionality.\u00a0 It is clear that the future of eReaders is no longer a standalone device.\u00a0 eReaders are morphing into new multifunctioning devices that bring more value to the consumer and decrease gadget clutter.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tablet PC&#8217;s &#8211;<\/strong> the long awaited tablet pc&#8217;s have arrived and offer pretty exciting features with Windows 7 offering touch screen capability.\u00a0 In the works for 2010 are HP&#8217;s Slate, Lenovo&#8217;s Idea Pad U1, and rumors have been swirling for months that Apple will soon announce their own version of the tablet pc.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Devices to help you keep track of kids\/things &#8211;<\/strong> one device is\u00a0now available, called Lok8u\u00a0(and at least one other is coming out soon) will to help you track your child via GPS.\u00a0 These devices can be placed either on the wrist (watch) or in a pocket so they have a better chance of being on a child if s\/he is abducted.\u00a0 Typically, an abductor tosses a child&#8217;s cell phone during the abduction.\u00a0 The child tracking devices can also be handy in knowing that your child is at school, arrived at a friend&#8217;s house, or arrived home safely.\u00a0 Another new\u00a0device, the Zomm, helps you to remember your cell phone in case you accidentally forget at home, in a restaurant, in your car, etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Car Technology &#8211; <\/strong>Ford has upped the ante for in-car technology, taking it to new horizons with its Microsoft SYNC in dash system.\u00a0 SYNC offers voice controls to change radio stations, find an address or point of interest (POI), check traffic, stocks, horoscopes, local movie listings, even answer your Bluetooth enabled phone.\u00a0 2011 technology includes even more features such as receiving text messages\u00a0from your phone and reading it to you, Facebook notes and Twitter tweets, managing your favorite <a title=\"Pandora\" href=\"https:\/\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/2009\/10\/22\/personalized-radio-youre-the-dj-and-its-free\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pandora <\/a>internet stations and the list continues.\u00a0 Ford is offering some remarkable technology on several of its 2011 cars and has big plans for continuing this technology in the future.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Note that much of the technology introduced during the show and summarized here are not yet available on the market.\u00a0 Manufacturers are still finalizing their features and you&#8217;ll start to see products out in the market anywhere from late Q1 up until mid Q4.\u00a0 Stay tuned for the WellConnectedMom&#8217;s mom tech highlights on Great Mom Tech Products,&#8221;
