I first found Laser Pegs online. \u00a0The Laser Pegs brand was a small company, just getting started. \u00a0I could tell right away they were going to be a hit. \u00a0When I attended the Toy Fair<\/a> tradeshow in February, I got to play\u00a0with\u00a0them in person. \u00a0Laser Pegs are a construction toy set with various pegs containing connectors to link them together with LED lights inside of them. \u00a0Each piece connects into the next one making it light up from a low voltage current. \u00a0In plainer words, Laser Pegs are simply Cool!<\/p>\n

Laser Pegs come in various kits, which range in price based on the number of pieces in the kit. \u00a0The kit I tested contained 72 pieces*. \u00a0This picture shows some of the pieces, the rest you’ll see later in my mastermind creation.<\/p>\n

You can light up your creation as you build, adding an extra element of fun and\u00a0pizzazz. \u00a0You have two options with regards to power: \u00a01.) \u00a0Use the enclosed Power Base and add 3 AA batteries which gives you more mobility\u00a0or 2.) buy a Laser Pegs AC Power Accessory Pack which plugs into the wall which saves your batteries for another toy.<\/p>\n

Here is my space buggy I created in about 10 minutes. \u00a0You can see it’s quite colorful. \u00a0There’s a certain thrill when you construct objects with lights…it just gives the project more energy!<\/p>\n

A Mom’s Perspective<\/span><\/h2>\n

Laser Pegs are just plain fun. \u00a0Each kit contains a good number of pieces with different angles and colors so your kids can\"\"<\/a> build\u00a0literally\u00a0thousands of different combinations. \u00a0Laser Pegs are recommended for kids ages 7 and older but my five year old had a blast with them. \u00a0Because of their smaller size, \u00a0kids under the age of 3 should not play with them as they pose a choking hazard.<\/p>\n

For older kids, following the build instructions available in the box and online provide for great problem-solving skills and analytical thinking. \u00a0Kids build creations they are proud of. \u00a0Two of Laser Pegs kits won the\u00a0Oppenheim Toy Group Platinum Award<\/a> this year.<\/p>\n
