When I heard Twister Mania was coming to the XBOX 360 Kinect, I knew right away I’d just HAVE to try it out. \u00a0I remember loving Twister as a child. \u00a0As an adult, well, it’s fun, but I just can’t seem to twist into those strange contortions the way I used to! \u00a0It hurts now. \u00a0Nonetheless, I was anxious to see how the game works.<\/p>\n

Game Choices<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

To my surprise, the new game of Twister Mania* \u00a0throws a whole new twist in the way the game is played. \u00a0Gone is the colorful dotted floor mat. \u00a0Twister Mania has four game choices:<\/p>\n

1. \u00a0Shape Frenzy: <\/strong>A shape is presented\u00a0on the screen and you must mimic the shape with your body. \u00a0The better you fill\"\"<\/a> the shape’s\u00a0silhouette, the more points you earn.<\/p>\n

2. \u00a0Twist & Fit<\/strong>: \u00a0moving cutouts as a part of a wall will come towards you – squeeze through them while avoiding\u00a0hitting the wall. \u00a0Lose points for hitting the wall.<\/p>\n

3. \u00a0Break It Down<\/strong>: \u00a0a bunch of colored various shaped blocks are bunched up together. \u00a0Help to crumble the wall by filling your body into one shape at a time. \u00a0Get two or more\u00a0like-colored shapes together to blast for\u00a0additional\u00a0points.<\/p>\n

4. \u00a0Spot On<\/strong>: \u00a0Challenge other players to try to mimic the shapes you, or you and your partners, create. \u00a0Afterwards, you need to mimic their shapes.<\/p>\n

I’m not sure which is more fun, playing Twister Mania or watching others play it. \u00a0It is sure to bring smiles to all in the room. \u00a0Twister Mania is great to play with the family or friends. \u00a0I have found that our friends tend to prefer the uniqueness and zaniness over the dance party games because it is way less intimidating. \u00a0They don’t need to have a beat to move to Twister as they do with the dance games. \u00a0The results of playing Twister Mania are hilarious, and Kinect is sure to serve up some pictures after playing with some very funny poses of each of the players.<\/p>\n

Believe it or not, up to eight players can play Twister Mania, however, only two players can play at the same time. \u00a0Because of twisting to various configurations, you really need the floor space to move to the various shapes without seriously injuring someone else.<\/p>\n

Gameplay Modes<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Twister Mania has three gameplay modes:<\/p>\n

Party Play<\/strong> – we use this one the most – it’s the easiest way to jump into an assortment of all the games and play with a bunch of people. \u00a0It’s a GREAT way to get people off the couch!<\/p>\n

Play It Al<\/strong>l – this is campaign based, meaning you go all the way though all the games from the beginning to the end.<\/p>\n

Quick Play<\/strong> – got a favorite game mode? \u00a0Jump right to it with Quick Play. \u00a0Great if you’re feeling rusty on a particular game and you want to impress your friends the next time you play with them.<\/p>\n

Twister Mania just launched last month and sells at Amazon <\/a>for $29.99 with free super saver shipping. \u00a0It is only available on the XBOX\u00a0360\u00a0Kinect.<\/p>\n

Twister Mania for XBOX Kinect takes the basic contortionist premise of the original game and amps it tenfold for playing on the XBOX Kinect.
