How many of you have dropped your phone? \u00a0Me! \u00a0How many have cracked your phone’s touchscreen? \u00a0Me!<\/div>\n

I recently dropped my phone on the parking lot pavement as I exited my car. \u00a0I was crushed…and so was my phone screen! \u00a0Had I been using the iKeep, this wouldn’t have happened. \u00a0OK, this isn’t true. \u00a0The iKeep is only for Apple products, so I wouldn’t have been using it anyways, since I own an Android.<\/div>\n

While at the Consumer Electronics Show this year, I fell in love with a simple smartphone accessory from a company called Poldera called the iKeep<\/a>. \u00a0The iKeep is a simple looking accessory that attaches to your belt loop or purse on one end and the other end attaches to the port on your iPhone, iPod, or even iPad via a retractable cord. \u00a0To put it in more simple terms, it’s brilliant. \u00a0How many of you have lost a phone? \u00a0OK, how about this, how many of your kids have lost a phone or iPod? \u00a0The iKeep is the answer to “keeping” your phone safe. \u00a0The iKeep has given me great assurance in these situations:<\/div>\n

I plug in my iKeep into my iPad when I’m going to be in a busy place. \u00a0The other end I either attach to my purse or work bag. \u00a0The iKeep provides me security so I can keep a better eye on my iPad in a crowded room. \u00a0It also gives me peace of mind that I won’t forget it because it’s attached right to my purse or work bag!<\/p>\n

Traveling iPods\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This Christmas, we gave our kids their first iPod’s. \u00a0Hardly a day goes by that they aren’t listening to them. \u00a0We like them to keep their iPods at home. \u00a0But\u00a0occasionally, one of them brings their ipod on an outing to Gramma’s. \u00a0As my kids get older (ages 6 and 8), I know they’re going to want to take them out of the house more. \u00a0They think the iKeep is the coolest thing – they love extending the retractable cord out and bringing it back in. \u00a0The iKeep is the perfect accessory to help them keep tabs on their iPod and keep it close to their side. \u00a0It’s perfect! \u00a0It gives me better security in allowing them to take their iPod places.<\/p>\n

If you have an iPhone, this is a great accessory to help you keep a leash on your phone. \u00a0The retractable cord gives you enough room to make a call without feeling tied down. \u00a0In fact, it has a unique catching mechanism where you can pull out the cord three inches and it stops, pull it out another 3 inches and it stops, you can do this up to 25 inches. \u00a0Sometimes you don’t need much cord if you’re charging your phone at an outlet attached to your purse but when you make a call, you’ll probably use all 25 inches. \u00a0Clever.<\/p>\n

A Mom’s Perspective<\/span><\/h2>\n

I think this is a great contraption. \u00a0And I love that it comes in many different colors to accessorize with your outfit.<\/p>\n

You may wonder about how strong the connection is to the port. \u00a0It is very strong and durable. \u00a0However, that being said, you are best advised to keep your iPod or iPhone in your pocket or in your purse, rather than have it dangle down. \u00a0Dangling down is dangerous because your device and swing and possibly hit something and get damaged and it wouldn’t be good for your port either.<\/p>\n

I would really like one for my Android phone, but I just don’t see the mini USB port being strong enough to support it. \u00a0Apple’s\u00a0patented port helps ensure the plug is secured. \u00a0In order to remove the plug, you have to squeeze the ends to release it. \u00a0Android simply does not have this feature.<\/p>\n

The Poldera iKeep gives you extra insurance to protect you against your phone getting stolen, losing your phone, or dropping your phone. \u00a0At $19.99, that’s\u00a0cheaper\u00a0than most replacement insurance packages.<\/p>\n
