Is it preferable over the Android?\" width=\"280\" height=\"210\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2012\/06\/E3-Day-2-cont-3-400.jpg?w=400&amp;ssl=1 400w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2012\/06\/E3-Day-2-cont-3-400.jpg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 280px) 100vw, 280px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-7375\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Galaxy Note compared to the Titan II<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n<p>My first impression of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.htc.com\/us\/smartphones\/htc-titan-2-att\/\" target=\"_blank\">Titan II <\/a>was,\u00a0wow, what a big screen at 4.7 inches! \u00a0 In fact, it is the closest competitor to the Galaxy Note, which is 5.3 inches. \u00a0The HTC Titan\u00a0II towers over my HTC Amaze screen. \u00a0The clarity is great as well&#8230;from the\u00a0home screen\u00a0to the apps to my pictures.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Benefits of a Windows Phone<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>1. \u00a0Home screen<\/strong> &#8211; This is a fast way to get contact info. and social media updates from that person at once. \u00a0Dependent upon have much info I have on a contact, I can see and click on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>home address<\/strong>s &#8211; instantly brings up a map, allowing you to get directions with a click of a button. \u00a0You can also easily look up restaurants, shopping, and things to do near the address you&#8217;re driving towards.<\/li>\n<li><strong>mobile phone<\/strong> &#8211; calls the person&#8217;s number<\/li>\n<li><strong>home phone<\/strong> &#8211; calls the person&#8217;s number<\/li>\n<li><strong>Calls\/missed calls<\/strong> &#8211; when the person called and how many calls this week<\/li>\n<li><strong>text<\/strong> &#8211; opens up a screen for you to type or speak your message<\/li>\n<li><strong>write on wall<\/strong> &#8211; to post to this contact&#8217;s Facebook page<\/li>\n<li><strong>birthday<\/strong> &#8211; it shows me their birthday (from Facebook)<\/li>\n<li><strong>children<\/strong> &#8211; tells me all the names of their children (from Facebook)<\/li>\n<li><strong>tweets<\/strong> &#8211; shows latest tweets from my friends and those I&#8217;m following on twitter<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>3. \u00a0The <strong>Call Tile<\/strong> &#8211; shows me all of the calls I made, took, or missed with my contacts. \u00a0Clicking on their name gives me their profile info., making it easy to call or text them back.<\/p>\n<p>4. \u00a0The <strong>Calendar Tile<\/strong> &#8211; shows me the agenda for the day, including all appointments. \u00a0Scrolling down gives me the next day, etc. \u00a0I can see the view in a monthly calendar frame too, but you \u00a0can&#8217;t read the detail. \u00a0Simply click on the day you&#8217;re interested to see all your appointments. \u00a0You can pull calendar info. from various calendars. \u00a0Outlook looks the best. \u00a0I am currently pulling in my Google calendar with no hiccups.<\/p>\n<p>5. \u00a0The <strong>Messaging Tile<\/strong> &#8211; shows your latest threads of conversations via text or Facebook messaging.<\/p>\n<p>6. \u00a0The <strong>Pictures Tile<\/strong> &#8211; shows a slide show of your latest pictures you&#8217;ve taken on the phone. \u00a0I love how it&#8217;s constantly updating the live tile.<\/p>\n<p>7. \u00a0The<strong> Zune Tile &#8211;<\/strong> use this to play your favorite saved tunes.<\/p>\n<p>8. \u00a0The <strong>Marketplace Tile<\/strong> &#8211; is basically the portal to all the games you have on your phone, not necessarily XBOX Live games. But you can see your Xbox 360 avatar, update your profile, see your achievements, and even update your Xbox Avatar on your phone with a free download called Xbox LIVE Extras.<\/p>\n<p>10. The <strong>Scout Tile<\/strong> &#8211; gives you the low down on where to eat, see &amp; do, and shop nearby. \u00a0This is a great program, especially when you&#8217;re in a new area and really looking for a good restaurant or place to shop.<\/p>\n<p>The beautify about the Windows phone is that you can pin up other important tiles as you see the need. \u00a0For example, I pinned these additional tiles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facebook<\/li>\n<li>Maps<\/li>\n<li>Foursquare<\/li>\n<li>Family (contacts)<\/li>\n<li>AOL mail<\/li>\n<li>BlogHer notebook from OneNote<\/li>\n<li>Cozi shopping list (a pinned website)<\/li>\n<li>Holy Bible<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Now I can easily get to my favorite apps\/websites.<\/div>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800080;\">What I Love About this Phone<\/span><\/h2>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>1. \u00a0The Tiles<\/strong> &#8211; they are great. \u00a0I thought I wouldn&#8217;t like all of those big &#8220;buttons&#8221; all over my homepage, but many of them display &#8220;need to know&#8221; info. like new texts, calls missed, e-mail&#8217;s, app updates, etc. \u00a0I can quickly see at a glance the info. I want to without searching for it. \u00a0I also love that I can pin website URLs to my home page. \u00a0I&#8217;ve never been able to do that on an Android phone.<br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-7449\" title=\"HTC Titan II Windows Phone (4)-400\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2012\/06\/HTC-Titan-II-Windows-Phone-4-400.jpg?resize=225%2C400&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2012\/06\/HTC-Titan-II-Windows-Phone-4-400.jpg?w=225&amp;ssl=1 225w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2012\/06\/HTC-Titan-II-Windows-Phone-4-400.jpg?resize=168%2C300&amp;ssl=1 168w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>2. \u00a0Internet Sharing<\/strong> &#8211;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> this is the \u00a0bomb<\/span> and it&#8217;s so easy. \u00a0Do you have a tablet (any brand), Nintendo DS, PS Vita, Nook, Kindle Fire, netbook, laptop, etc? \u00a0Now you can easily share the mobile Internet access from your Windows smartphone directly to any or several of these devices (up to 5!) \u00a0Just go to Settings and look for Internet Sharing. \u00a0I wrote an article on how I did this with our <a href=\"https:\/\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/2012\/05\/30\/your-personal-movie-player-on-the-ps-vita\/\" target=\"_blank\">PS Vita<\/a>\u00a0and Netflix. \u00a0Imagine being on a road trip and each family member having Internet access without having to pay separate 3G or 4G coverage for each device&#8230;there&#8217;s no extra cost! \u00a0If you had an iPhone though, there would be an extra cost. \u00a0Tired of paying the extra $20\/day cost for Internet in your hotel room? \u00a0No worries, turn on Internet Sharing on your Windows phone and you&#8217;re good to go! \u00a0Slick!<\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>3. \u00a0The Camera<\/strong> &#8211; the Titan II&#8217;s camera is 16MP! \u00a0That&#8217;s better than my camera! It takes great shots. \u00a0There are all sorts of settings you can choose, plenty of automatic features like smile capturing, intelligent auto for choosing the best scene, face detection, red eye reduction, image stabilizer, etc. \u00a0You can also choose manual settings such as ISO, metering mode, saturation, brightness, effects, etc.<\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Other options include:<\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Panorama shot, where you can stitch together several photos (really cool!) and Burst Shots which takes 5 quick shots in a row (great for basketball games, hitting a baseball with a bat, etc.) \u00a0But, even with all of these great features, the part I like the best is when I frame my shot, I press the main area on my screen of my shot that I want the camera to focus on. \u00a0Once it achieves the focus, it immediately takes the shot. \u00a0No waiting for me to press the button. \u00a0This simple gesture if so incredibly helpful. \u00a0The Titan II camera is the bomb!<\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>4. \u00a0OneNote<\/strong> &#8211; many people use Evernote, but if you haven&#8217;t tried OneNote, you must! \u00a0It is an Office product you can use to keep track of everything&#8230;your life&#8217;s goals, journal your kids stories, your receipts, phone conversations, To Do list, favorite recipes. \u00a0Anything and everything can go in it. \u00a0I used to carry around a thick day planner, now my life is contained within OneNote. \u00a0I use the OneNote app on my Android phone and iPad, but it is so much more impressive on the Windows phone. \u00a0Very easy to use and update. \u00a0Two of the pictures to the right show OneNote on the phone. \u00a0I use OneNote to help me plan out my BlogHer trips, map out home decor, keep up with my Mom&#8217;s doctors, and much more.<\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>5. \u00a0The Display<\/strong> &#8211; the screen display is 4.7 inches! \u00a0It&#8217;s huge, yet not too big that it doesn&#8217;t fit in a pocket. \u00a0Honestly, it&#8217;s more fun to look at, you see so much more on this phone than most phones.<\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>6. \u00a0The QWERTY keyboard<\/strong> &#8211; the bigger size screen makes for a bigger onscreen keyboard. \u00a0I rarely type the wrong letter by mistake, as I do OFTEN with my Android phone. \u00a0I also like the feedback sound it gives you when you type in letters\/numbers.<\/div>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-7448\" title=\"HTC Titan II Windows Phone (10)-400\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2012\/06\/HTC-Titan-II-Windows-Phone-10-400.jpg?resize=400%2C225&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2012\/06\/HTC-Titan-II-Windows-Phone-10-400.jpg?w=400&amp;ssl=1 400w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wellconnectedmom.com\/blog\/p-content\/themes\/atahualpa342\/images\/articles\/2012\/06\/HTC-Titan-II-Windows-Phone-10-400.jpg?resize=300%2C168&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>7. \u00a0Office\u00a0Synchronization<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; any Microsoft Office documents I have saved in my Microsoft SkyDrive are automatically available on my phone, once I \u00a0connectded it to my SkyDrive account. \u00a0The document renders beautifully on the phone, complete with tables and pic. \u00a0I can have my PowerPoint presentations ready at a minute&#8217;s notice for an impromptu meeting. \u00a0There is no extra cost for this service either as long as you don&#8217;t store a huge amount of data on your SkyDrive. \u00a0Beautiful.<\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><br \/>\nThings that Could Improve<\/span><\/h2>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>1. \u00a0The Apps<\/strong>&#8211; Windows now has over 100,000 apps in their Marketplace, that&#8217;s a lot. \u00a0But I was sorely disappointed that some of my favorite apps weren&#8217;t there yet. \u00a0 Apps like Cozi, Where&#8217;s My Water, Words with Friends, Draw, Temple Run, Pet Hotel, Carl&#8217;s Jr. app, and a few others. \u00a0The Windows Marketplace has Angry Birds, but only the main one, it it costs $.99. \u00a0Angry Birds is free on the Android phone. \u00a0Angry Birds Space and Rio are no where to be found.<\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>2. \u00a0Open Apps<\/strong> &#8211; At first I couldn&#8217;t find a way to scroll through my open apps. \u00a0One day I\u00a0mistakenly\u00a0held down the back button arrow on the phone and I could see all open apps. \u00a0This is not very intuitive. \u00a0I often have a lot of apps open (I often do), which can slow down the processor, but there&#8217;s no way to kill the apps I don&#8217;t need at the moment. \u00a0It would also be great to jump from one open program to another without having to scroll through all the apps again.<\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">3. <strong>\u00a0Pictures\u00a0Taken in Poor Lighting<\/strong> &#8211;
