Every year at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), I look forward to checking out Lenovo’s latest offerings for the family. They are a pretty innovative company and we are big fans and users of their Yoga notebooks and tablets.
This year was no exception, but I what surprised me the most this year was not their laptops, tablets, or even PC’s, but strangely enough, their PC mouse! Who would have thought you could pack so much innovation in a peripheral device that hasn’t changed much in 15+ years!
Highlights from the 2016 Lenovo Line
Though Lenovo introduced many new products and updates to their existing line, I will highlight a few of the most interesting ones.
The Lenovo YOGA Mouse
The new Yoga Mouse is two gadgets rolled up into one! Utilizing the twisting flexibility the YOGA line is known for, the YOGA Mouse can be used as a mouse to control your computer…or it can be flexed into a straight remote control to wirelessly direct your PC or laptop from afar – perfect for presentations.
And if you fancy your mouse in colors other than black, the Lenovo YOGA mouse is also available in Platinum Silver, Champagne Gold and my favorite, Clementine Orange. It also features a rechargeable battery that lasts up to a month with normal everyday use. No more wasting AA batteries!
This lightweight Lenovo YOGA Mouse is compatible on all Windows PC’s and Laptops using Windows 7 and above. The Lenovo YOGA Mouse will be available in April and priced at $70.
Lenovo YOGA 900S
The perfect companion for the Lenovo YOGA Mouse is the beautiful new Lenovo 12″ screen YOGA 900S convertible laptop. At only 1/2 inch thick and weighing in at 2.2 lbs., the YOGA 900S is the world’s thinnest convertible laptop. It’s all-day battery powers your up for an unbelievable 10.5 hours, simply amazing!
The YOGA line is known for its flexibility. The YOGA 900S can easily transform into a Stand, Tent, Tablet, or Laptop mode, dependent upon your needs, all supported by its luxurious patented watchband hinge. Active Pen stylus support is also supported for a flawless writing experience.
I love my YOGA 2 Pro, it’s the best laptop I’ve ever used. But the Lenovo YOGA 900S is even a pound lighter and slightly thinner than my YOGA 2 Pro, which is absolutely amazing. The YOGA 900S feels light too, you can tell the difference, making it easier to throw in your backpack or briefcase.
The YOGA 900S will be available in March with prices starting at $1,009.
Lenovo LINK
The Lenovo LINK gives you the option to control your phone from your PC. It looks just like a USB thumb drive and it is…a 32 GB 3.0 USB one, but it’s so much more! It allows you see your phone or tablet on your PC screen!
To begin, simply download the Lenovo LINK app on your Android phone or tablet and link it to your PC using a USB cable. Automatically you will see your Android phone’s screen projected on your PC’s monitor.
No longer will you need to dart your eyes between two screens and slowly type your text messages or emails on your phone’s small screen. Now you can use your PC’s keyboard and mouse to type and scroll through screens. You can even move pictures/video/documents over seamlessly from your phone to your PC and vice versa.
And with 32 GB on the LINK drive, you’ll always have extra storage for your phone, tablet, or PC with you. The Lenovo links supports Android 5.0 and above as well as Windows 7 and above. The Lenovo LINK will be available in March for $40.
The Complete Gaming System
Have some gamers in your household? Lenovo has teamed up with leading gaming lifestyle brand, Razer to add Lenovo processing power to Razer’s gaming line. Utilizing Razer’s Chroma lighting effects, the new ideacenter Y900 RE (Razer Edition) with its accelerated Intel i7 quad-core processor and dual NVIDIA GTX 970 discrete graphics, it is sure to thrill everyone in your household.
In addition to the Chroma lights on the case, both the keyboard and mouse light up with Razer Chroma multi-color lighting effects, I have to say, it’s pretty impressive.
Complementing the Lenovo ideacenter Y900 RE, is the new Lenovo Y27g RE Curved Gaming Monitor, the first curved gaming monitor in the industry. With its 27 inch screen, 16.7 million colors, and Nvidia G-SYNC refresh rate, you’ll feel like you’re in the game with this immersive experience! Like the ideacenter Y900 RE, the monitor itself lights up with Chroma enhancing lights.
The ideacentre Y900 RE desktop starting price is $2,299 and the Lenovo Y27g Curved Gaming Monitor prices start at $549.99. Both will be available in June.
