Design Your Own Stable With the Horse Haven App!

If your children are looking for a new game app to keep them busy this summer, Horse Haven World Adventures is definitely worth consideration.  The Horse Haven app allows users to design their own farms, breed horses, and race them.  Users can pet, feed, and brush their horses.  When they join with other friends, they can have even more fun.

My children started off by creating and designing their own stables.  There were many tutorials that they could watch and learn from.  They chose their horse and they were able to choose the saddle, as well as other design elements.  Users earn coins by doing various chores or winning races.  These coins are then used to buy additional horses.  As time goes on, you can watch the horses grow from colts to full adults.

Chores

After the farm is built, the Horse Haven app requires that you keep your horse happy and keep his energy levels up.  You do this by feeding him, brushing his mane, or by cleaning out the stable.  To do these chores,  you must have coins available in your bank.

Earning Coins

Users earn coins by completing various races.  You can participate in Steeplechases to collect coins and jump over hurdles.  Coins can also be bought through an in-app purchase.

Breeding

This was my daughter’s favorite part of the Horse Haven app.  When you have enough coins, you can breed your horse.  She enjoyed being able to see what would happen if you bread a Mustang with a Quarter horse, for example.  You can breed your horse with other players as well.

Pros:

• Easy to install
• Easy to follow tutorials
• Child friendly
• Gives a new take on “creating your own world” apps

Cons:

• The app itself is quite large (93 MB)
• There is some glitching that occurs if you don’t have enough memory
• In-app purchases can be spendy if you don’t earn enough coins

It is fun for all ages, even if you don’t have the experience of raising your own horses.  Children can see what it takes to run a virtual horse farm!
