Soothe Massage, In-Home 5-Star Quality Massage!

soothe

“Hi.  My name is Julie and I am addicted to massages.”  Ok, perhaps I am not addicted, but boy do I love getting a great massage.  My problem is that my schedule is always packed and I usually end up trying to get a massage the same day I realize I need one.  Often times, there are no openings or the therapist that is available may not be the best.  I recently found out that for massages, there’s an app for that!  It’s called Soothe Massage, which offers 5-star quality massages to be scheduled in as soon as a hour, in the privacy of your own home!

How it Works

The process is simple –  You can sign up online at www.soothe.com or download the app on your smart phone.  The Soothe Massage app is available on both the App Store and GooglePlay.   Here’s how it works…

Step 1

Choose the type of Soothe massage you want and the date/time you prefer (you can book as little as an hour away).

Step 3

Enter your address and your payment information.

If there is not an available therapist at the time you selected, Soothe will contact you to set up an alternate time.

Soothe Massage Quality

Soothe-App-Massage-Table

Let me start by stating that I have had amazing massages as well as some not-so-great massages.  The best I have ever experienced was a couples massage on our honeymoon trip to Costa Rica.  I have been in search of that high quality massage ever since.  On the opposite end, the worst experience was when a massage therapist put his fingers inside my ears.  So, my hope for my Soothe massage was somewhere in between.

My massage therapist arrived about 15 minutes early.  I wondered beforehand if I should get my Pandora music ready, or if there was anything I needed to provide.  The therapist brought everything; the massage table, linens, candle and used her phone to provide the relaxing music.  I honestly felt so relaxed.  It was raining so, I even had the sound of nature!

The table set up was complete in just a few moments and the therapist asked me about the type of massage I wanted along with any injuries or medications I was taking.  She stepped into the bathroom while I was able to undress to my comfort level.  The massage was a 90 minute one – the therapist said that is a good time frame to really work out the muscles and that 60 minutes can often be too rushed.

I must tell you, this 90 minute Soothe massage rivaled that one in Costa Rica.  It was clear that my therapist was well-trained.  I had taken a fall down the steps a few days earlier, leaving my left knee very tender and my lower back in pain.  She took the time to very carefully work around my injury and worked the muscles that were tight.

When the Soothe massage was done, I was relaxed and my muscles felt less tense.  Even better, I didn’t have to go outside get in my car, and drive with a bunch of crazies on the road after a relaxing massage.  Since the massage was at my house, I was able to stay relaxed…at least until all the kids got home!

A Mom’s Perspective

As a busy mom, I savor the times I can sneak away and get a massage.  Soothe massage has been a great experience to bring that relaxation to my home.  I was a little bit nervous about bringing a stranger into my home.  I scheduled the massage for a time when I knew my husband would be home but the kids would not.

I asked the massage therapist if she gets nervous going into unfamiliar homes.  She replied that she has not had any bad experiences.  She also noted that she was a veteran and a former fire fighter and was well-trained should any situation arise.

On a first visit, you are not able to choose your therapist, only your specific needs/ gender.  After you have had your first massage, you are able to request the same therapist, which reduces the nervousness about who is coming into your home.  For me, this was a great experience, one that I would welcome again!

*I was given a complimentary 90 minute massage for my honest review.  All opinions are my own.
