Withings Go Activity Tracker

Withings Go

Withings has just launched their newest family member, the Withings Go Activity Tracker!  The Go Tracker is an affordable minimalist activity tracker that tracks steps, swimming and sleep.

With so many fitness trackers flooding the market, it can be difficult for a new tracker to find its niche to stand apart from the crowd.  Withings has done this by creating a watch with a screen display where the battery lasts for up to 8 months!  That means no need to charge it every day and no special chargers to lose!

Run, Walk, Swim, GO!

Withings Go tracks your walks, runs and swimming sessions. The Go tracker uses your movements to track how many steps you take.  It does not have a built in GPS, thus the accuracy in distance could be slightly off, depending on your stride.  It is waterproof up to 50M.  The watch is easy to see, at a glance,  how close to your daily goal you have to  go.

Withings data shows the benefits of reaching your 10,000 steps per day goal.

SLEEP – People who regularly hit their step goal are 13% less likely to wake up in the middle of the night.

WEIGHT – People who regularly hit their step goal are 2.1 more likely to achieve their target weight.

HEART HEALTHWithings data shows a 10% decrease in the average heart rate among people who walk 10k steps a day.

RELAX – People who walk 10k steps a day are 10% less likely to feel stressed out than sedentary people.

Tracker Display

Withings-Go-1

Withings uses E -Ink technology for the watch display.  It uses minimal battery life, and shows clearly in all types of sunlight and even in the water.  By pressing on the watch display, you can switch between the activity tracker screen and a time watch display.  Using this technology, batteries last up to 8 months long!

You can choose your color, your band, or skip the band all together and clip it on your belt or shoe lace.

The Health Mate App

The Health Mate app is pretty easy to read.  It tracks your steps, runs, swimming, calories burned, and the time in each activity.  Additionally, you can track your nutrition and how many calories you need to burn to lose weight.

The sleep trackers shows how much of the time you had deep sleep, light sleep and how long you were actually awake during the night.  Sometimes it is more frustrating to see how much sleep you didn’t get!   You can click on an individual activity to get more information about that specific run or swim.  You can even join the leader board and compete with your neighbor or others across the globe!

A Mom’s Perspective

The Withings Go Activity Tracker is a great entry level tracking device that is reliable and easy-to-use.  I had a few problems with the original syncing to my phone, but after I deleted the app and reinstalled, it was quickly resolved.

The Withings Go Activity Tracker is lightweight, and easy-to-read.  The display shows, at a glance, how active you have been that day.

If you are looking for a low cost, effective way to track your movement,  the Withings Go Activity Tracker is a great option.  My daughter even set up an account and had fun seeing how many steps she got in while walking around at school.   Overall, the Withings Go is a good tracker for those seeking to track steps, or the beginning runner.
