Philips Healthcare Offer Personalized Healthcare

CES, the Consumer Electronics Show tradeshow is so big, it’s nearly impossible to see every booth.

As written about in our Top 5 Tech Product Trends at CES 2019, we noticed a building trend towards products that Health Assist.

Health Assist means that devices are not only tracking your steps, heartbeats, possible falls, sleep vitals, but they also give you advice or sendalerts to people in your care circle.

Personalized healthcare has been occurring for years, but now it’s getting more personalized.

I attended a breakfast with Philips Healthcare while at CES to learn more about some of the ways they are gearing their products to speak to individual needs.

Philips is making products focused on personalized healthcare in many areas, but the ones in the sleep and dental care product line were of particular interest.

Sleep

Philips Healthcare offers different solutions to aid with sleeping from getting deeper sleep to helping spouses to sleep better, to helping those with sleep apnea.

They continue to seek out solutions based on the sleeping data they research and build upon.

Philips SmartSleep Snoring Relief Band

Do you have a partner who snores?  Nothing can be more frustrating when trying to get to sleep at night next to a snorer.

Philips SmartSleep Snoring Relief Band is a solution.  The Philips SmartSleep Snoring Relief Band is a gentle, non-constricting band your partner wears around his/her waist.

It houses a small discreet sensor which encourages the wearer to sleep on his/her side, as opposed to his/her back.

Back sleeping causes the most snoring.  The band gives out gentile vibrations that adjust its intensity and vibration pattern based on the snoring it detects.

The vibrations do not disrupt sleep but do encourage its wearer to turn to his/her side, resulting in better sleep for both partners!  A win-win.

The snorer isn’t nudged awake by his/her partner because the partner is too busy sleeping!

SmartSleep Deep Sleep Headband

There are some people who only sleep 4-6 hours a night based on their schedule.  Experts agree that a minimum of 7 hours of sleep is best for the body to repair itself.

But not everyone can attain that or “afford” the time for 7 hours.  The SmartSleep Deep Sleep Headband is a clinically proven solution to improve the quality of deep sleep a person can achieve.

It is a wearable that is worn on the forehead and around the head to help improve sleep quality, boosts alertness, and reduce sleepiness throughout the day.

The SmartSleep Deep Sleep Headband is designed to help the wearer feel more rested and refreshed.

How does it work?  You put the headband on and set it up before going to sleep.

Once in deep sleep, or slow wave sleep, an algorithm triggers quiet audio tones to boost the slow waves which improve the quality of sleep.

These tones customize to your sleep pattern over time.

In the morning, the data is sent over to your SleepMapper app to show stats and SmartSleep Deep Sleep boosts.

People who have used the headband report feeling more refreshed the next morning.

Dental Care

Philips has been a leader in oral healthcare for many years.

They have one of the most advanced power toothbrushes on the market and are taking personalized heathcare one step further through their new teledentistry platform.

Diamond Clean Smart Toothbrush

Last year, Philips Healthcare introduced the coolest toothbrush I have ever seen.  It’s back again this year with even more features.

It’s called Diamond Clean Smart, and it’s the epitome of personalized healthcare for your teeth.

The Diamond Clean Smart toothbrush connects to its own app to teach you to perfect your brushing session and ensure you reached all tooth surfaces.

While brushing you get real-time feedback so you can make adjustments as you go.

The toothbrush’s location sensors alert the app to show you where you are brushing too much or too little.

The scrubbing sensor helps you to improve your brushing method, and the pressure sensors let you know when you are brushing too hard.

Finally, at the end of your brushing, the TouchUp overview alerts you to areas you may have missed.

The app keeps track of brushing and gives you a 3D representation of your teeth to help you improve your brushing technique.

With up to 5 modes and 3 intensities, the Diamond Clean Smart toothbrush offers something for everyone’ needs.

Philips Healthcare reports that the Diamond Clean Smart toothbrush can remove up to 10 times more plaque and improve gum health up to 7 times better (when in Gum Health mode) better than a normal toothbrush.

It comes with 3-5 different brush heads (dependent upon the model) to assist you with teeth brushing, whitening, tongue cleaning, or gum health.

The Diamond Clean Smart toothbrush does all of this, but it also looks beautiful.  Yes, there is such thing as a beautiful toothbrush.

Some of the colors are refreshingly appealing, like the Lunar Blue, Pink, and Silver ones.

Oh, and it comes with a sleek glass holder to hold your toothbrush and charge it, when not in use.  Philips thought of everything.

Teledentistry

There are times when you have an issue with your teeth (or another family member’s) and you’re not sure whether it merits going to the dentist or not.

Teledentistry connects you with a licensed dentist to assess your needs…minus the dentist office waiting time and dentist chair.

Using the app, you fill out a questionnaire, shoot some teeth selfies, and send the info. along to receive a trusted dental evaluation and personalized healthcare recommendations.

You have two options.  Direct care for quick answers and personalized recommendations in as little as 6 hours.

Or Complete Care where you receive a customized in-depth assessment of specific areas of your oral concerns within 24 hours.

I love how technology brings us new ways to interact with professionals and get the information we need while offering convenience.

Philips Healthcare continues to push the limits to develop products that are relevant, useful, and impactful, offering personalized healthcare to consumers around the globe.
